If I use an eth claw, and use DTalon (kicker basically), will the claw lose durability? And what about claw block? Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks!

Claw block will make the claw lose durability!

So will Blade Shield, if you use that. However, Dragon Talon will not make you lose durability in and of itself.

Thanks for the replies! So I guess an eth Jade Talon is not much of a use then.

Some WWers use them because they're cheap and have decent damage. Or so I've been told.

BF won't use up durability either. An eth JT isn't ideal for it obviously, but getting resists from the weapon slot does open up some interesting possibilities elsewhere.

A minor thread resurrection. We're having a similar discussion in the SPF about it.

Essentially, I have not experienced any drop in durability with any of my claws through out NM and hell, save one point on my main claw. I'm using 2x Tuc's with 52% claw block and DTalon/Flight.

I am skeptical about what drops claw durability, if anything at all.

1) Personal emperical evidence seems to suggest that claws don't lose durability from blocking (contradictory to above). If they do, which claw loses durability? I believe the assy blocks (annimation wise) with her left (offhand, screen right i.e. boot side) claw.

2) Does DFlight cause claws to lose durability? If so, which one?

3) Do boots ever lose durability other than when a char takes a hit (i.e. from kicking, etc)?

Thanks for the info.

No idea on WB, though it seems bizarre to me that it could affect claw durability at all.

2. No.

3. No

There were some odd issues with claw durability early in the game, but I think they were all fixed.

Now that I think about it more, I realize that several knowledgable people (including ilkori, I think) have said WB doesn't reduce durability. For instance see http://s94360530.onlinehome.us/d2/assassin-faq07.htm

I should have remembered this after Highlord's post, but WB/durability loss is one of those issues I've always had a hard time keeping straight.

Me too. heh. For some reason, I was thinking it did wear them down, but now I'm going to make sure my guide is straight with the durability issue. Thanks. (congrats on the 1k posts, BeB!)

Same goes no durability loss goes for Blade Shield?

Blade Shield will whack durability. At least, that is how memory serves my one Assassin who used the skill (with a rediculously expensive claw).

Offhand claw does not lose durability with blade shield, only primary hand does.
Weaponblock should not make either claw lose durability.

Eth jades are safe to use as offhand claws on kicksins, they will never lose durability unless you attack with them for some reason.

Some WWers use them because they're cheap and have decent damage. Or so I've been told. All the ones I've seen used were either zod'd or eth glitched on ww sins. >.>
