Played this game for many years as a necro/sorc/barb/pally but never really tried a druid before.

Was thinking of trying a dual elemental -- windy + a fire skill (druid equivalant of a meteorb sorc)

Is this viable build for key running, mfing, and baal runs? (Solo keys - usually in group for baal runs)
Any suggestions which fire skill best? (Firestorm, fissure, armegeddon?)
Any suggestions on hardpoint placement for best synergies?

Will be trying to max life with hopefully decent block (not likely to be maxing block since i prefer vita characters).

Ending equipment available to me: hoto, shako, arachnids, spirit or stormshield, enigma, bulkathos rings (hopefully soj's soon), d torch, elemental skiller gcs, +3 elemental ammy or hopefully mara's...

I will likely have eth fort armor and highend insight for merc -- thinking holy freeze or defensive act 2 -- open to suggestions.

No points in shapeshifting (obviously), prefer to travel light so no summons unless you guys can convince me of a 1 point wonder i really should use. I have a feeling i will need every hard point i can get to make this work in the elemental tree.

I generally consider a character 'built' at level 90 so that is 101 hard points.

I figure from equipment i should have at level 75 -- +15 all skills and +6-9 elemental skillers.

I will probably grind out playing thru level 25 or so, then likely rush from then on with other players.

If this has all been covered in a guide -- I must have missed it when i looked thru the stickied guides -- please provide link and forgive me LOL :xmas17:

Thanks in advance for any help....

Both fire and windy skills need boost from synergies to be really effective. The fire skills only can fill 100 skill points, plus those needed as prereqs for the armageddon.
I honestly think a combo of both these would be weak, since your possibility to put points as synergies is VERY limited. You will have 10 skills with points in them, meaning some will be 1pointers, and if you end up just using either fire or windskills, then it isnt much of a hybrid :xmas22:

I was hoping that having high +skills from equipment could overcome some of the lack of synergy that i would get if i focused on just one element.

I have never been a big fan of single element/attack builds since they all have a huge weakness as soon as it you come accross an immune. (I built a light trapper assasin awhile back that was probably the best killer i have ever made thru nightmare - but once in hell the immunes made it nearly useless).

I know i cant perfectly synergize both elements in this -- but i was hoping for how to best try this...

I've made a dual elemental druid and soloed him all the way to hell act 5 (single player, used players 4-6 pretty much all the time) and he worked just fine, as long as you have lots of +skills, which you mentioned you do. My druid used the following skills:
max armageddon
max volcano
5 points in fissure to up the duration a bit
max hurricane
max tornado
5 points in cyclone armor to up the duration
1 point in all the summons except solar creeper and spirt of barbs
1 in other prereqs
basically I ran around with hurricane and armageddon on all the time, spamming tornados while my merc (might aura with doom polearm) and grizzly mopped up single targets. I had 50% DR, and max block with stormshield, without which this build doesn't really work too well. Don't know if this is similar to what you were planning, but I just thought I'd point out that a dual element druid is perfectly viable IF you have top end gear.

A wind droid already has access to 2 types of damage, cold from hurricane and physical from tornado. I don't think any monsters in the game are actually cold AND phys immune...
