Throwing Axes?

i have a question.......it may seem like a frighteningly obvious one, but im new:) ......... do throwing axes get the bonueses from throwing mastery and axe mastery.......... according to the descriptions they ought to, it is a ranged weapon and its type is axe.

if it does, doesnt that mean you could get a pretty darn good throwing barb, just by maxing axe/throwing mastery, bo, and then iron skin/shout/whatever you want.

meh, im just brainstorming.........but i really wanna know:)

as i said, that was first time i had ever used forums........i asked a friend of mine about the masteries, and he had no idea and suggested i asked here......never even knew such a cool website existed lol
