View Full Version : What will be best giude for me to use???
I'm planning on a MA c/c build, using full nat and jade talon/ Bartuc.
What will be the best guide for me in the strategy section to read and build???
Skygoneblue's C/C Phoenix Striker.
thanks for replying but i haven't found a guide that's written by "Skygoneblue" in the assasin strategy section. Can u plz post a link?
From the guide sticky, These are the guides that are currently hosted in this thread, and are currently awaiting submission into the Compendium, or are already hosted in the Compendium(use the Ctrl + F command, copy the entire guide name, and click 'Find Next', and you should be at the guide post, if not, go to the next page):In other words, it isn't in the compendium, yet. You want this one:
The PvM Phoenix Striker - by skygoneblue
thank you. this guide is what I was looking for.
except one thing- I was aiming for a MA c/c natalya guide which also uses BoS and Shadow Master. Is there such a guide? and if not- is it possible to create a useful one with these?
Though I understand by reading Skygoneblue's guide, that in the end I'll have 39 skill points to place in other skills to my liking.
Will it be wise to just use the guide, and invest those 39 points into Bos and SM?
and correct me if I'm wrong, but this build requires a very quick switch of hotkeys during battle(so it's hard to deal with unless you have practiced builds such as this), and is not useful for PvP.
Again, I may be wrong. Please check me and reply.
Overall I think this guide is a very good one, and it gives you enormous dmg of 14k.
His guide uses both BoS and Shadow Master. It's just that BoS is only worth putting one point into. After the +skill boost on your equipment, you won't get much boost from additional points.
If you look through his skill descriptions, he gives which ones are good to boost by indicating a 1+ by them. SMaster and Claw Mastery are both worth investments, imho. Also, I like to put ~5 points in Weapon Block to get the 50% blocking.
edit -
Yes, practice makes perfect. I would recommend doing all of the act 1-4 questiong by yourself, and then baal run a bit to level, then go back and quest through the acts. That way, by the time you get to Hell (when you need the skill), you'll be ready to swap skills quickly.
Cool
But I meant BoS with at least 8 points invested in it, and SM with 20 at least...
nvm..
I'll just go with that strategy it's great!!!
and is it useful in PvP?
helloooooo???
^ ^ I asked: "is it useful in PvP?"
Wasn't sure if that was a question the first time, and please don't double post. We don't live on the forums, some of us do things in real life.
Anyway, it will never be useful in PvP. Charge-ups are too slow, and don't have enough AR.
thanks for replying, and I did not think u live on the forum.
I posted this two times because nobody answered.
anyway-Is it possible to build a c/c assa(no matter if trap or MA) which uses full Nat, 8 points(more or less) in BoS, and about 15-20 points in SM, and will be useful in PvP?

It's possible, but it wouldn't be very efficient. Like ilkori said, the most suited build for the Odium is an Assassin using the Phoenix Strike chargeup, but that's out of the question in PvP. You could build a Trapper with the Odium, but you'll be much weaker than other PvP Trappers using specialized unique equipment, simply because the Odium isn't meant for Trappers. Even if you attempted a WWsin with the Odium, you'd still be weaker than other WWsins, given you can't use 'Enigma' or 'Bramble', so both your poison damage and mobility will be lacking(not to mention, in PvP at least you can get claws with a higher physical damage than Natalya's Mark).
Bottom line is, it's possible to make a Trapper/Melee PvP Assassin using the Odium, but you'll be easily outclassed by other Assassins of the same build using more suitable equipment.
Nali's post got me thinking on a few things. There was an ancient debate over whether Bramble or 3x Facet Nats was the best armor for a whilrysin in PvP. However, once the proper use of Enigma showed up, it outclassed them both. So, Nats armor can be somewhat comparable to Bramble if you don't mind the cut in damage. (There is the decrease in enemy resists and PLR from the -% resists mod.)
What really ends up hurting you the most, though, are the mods on Nat's claw. It's got PvM written all over it. ITD and %dmg to Demons/Undead both are for monsters only. Compare this to Fury which has -% defense, large OW%, slightly higher ED, an AR bonus, and some Deadly Strike on top of all that.
The other problem is that BoS doesn't get much use out of the build. The Faster Run/Walk is the only bonus for it since it isn't even counted on your Whirlwind IAS calculations.
