pvp - 125 faster cast rate or max block ?

Hello all,

I've never made a pvp necro before, and looking at all the builds etc... I'm very interested in the bnp pvp necro - particularly soulesschild's guide. My question is what is better, max block and 75 fcr with homunculus or all vita and 125 fcr with dark force spawn (since it's a waste to put points into dex for a 35% chance to block) ? here are the 2 possible choices of gears that i'm thinking of

max block and 75 fcr

trangs gloves (20fcr)
arachnid belt (20fcr)
+8 bone spear white rune word (20fcr)
2 crafted caster rings (20fcr)
homunculus
enigma (breast plate ? mage plate ? or archon ? please help...)
shako
+3 bnp ammy
and what boots should I get ? crafted caster boots or silk weave or boots with res ?


all vita and 125 fcr set up

dark force spawn (30fcr)
trang gloves (20fcr)
arachnid belt (20fcr)
+8 bone spear white rune word (20fcr)
enigma
rare + skill circlet (20fcr)
one crafted ring (10fcr)

+3 bnp ammy
and again... what boots should I use ?


I know hoto gives 40 fcr... but i don't want to give up the +5 to bone spear... since it's my main attack... or am i wrong ? Mind you... I've never dueled with a necro so I'm hoping that those with more experience can give me their inputs. Many thanks !

Just an fyi, +2 nec 10% fcr (magic, crafted, rare?) is going to be a lot better then just +3 pnb. And even if you want to stick with a +3 pnb ammy get one with 10% fcr and ditch the fcr ring for another soj/bk.

No more marrow bug so your BA is not going to be like it used to be.

Without max block barbs will destroy you in one WW. You can't run forever and a good one will catch you. Just a thought.

I use max block on my poisonmancer and it is well worth the life lost going block yet I also use SS and 50% PDR along with BA which for some reason vs. grief users seems to block and abs better then Homo does. Has anyone else noticed this?

max blocking is needed otherwise barbs, bow/javazons and chargers (smiters) will whipe u out.

125 fcr is needed for pvp as well. There are many ways to reach this mark. However, in the long run wizzard spike is better than any other weapon (read hoto, white). The 50% fcr, resists (90 all resits with a cheap +15 all resist jewel) and the more imortant, mana (you will need tons of mana) makes it the favourite of any experienced necro. I use 2 fcr rings with mana. When I need block I use homo, vs casters spirit.

anohter important thing for pvp is fhr, get 86 break (shael circlet). So for boots I would use shands treck.

For me I just go with 125%FCR + Max Block.

Though for dueling chargers/bvc/bva/bowazons. Max block is needed

Vs. sorcs/wind druids/hdins/bvc/bva/necros. 125%FCR is needed

I only use 75% if Im dueling very defensive or the opponent can't tele.

I have a couple good ones (17 life 17 mana sc :D ) go for fhr to reach breakpoint if you can, and life>mana (u can always use mana pots and they'll never find out) fhr is the sole reason I use treks>waterwalks

you should be fine with your setup.... 125%fcr against casters and 75% block.... although i think your dmg is lacking a little bit
