I have heard that Amn + Tir is a good runeword for claws for the sin. Is there anything better than this for a claw weapon before I runeword this:

Soul Thirst
Blade Talons

10 - 16 dmg

+2 max dmg
+65 poison - 7 sec.
4% mana stolen per hit

socketed (2)

that's a rare and u cannot runeword rares, uniques, set items. The optimal baseclaw for a runeword would be superior 15% ed with some ar.

Edit: BTW, what would be good to put in this claw rune and/or gem, jewel wise? (keeping in mind that I'm only 38th level and don't have access yet to the uber stuff).

Sorry m8, i don't think that rare claw is any good for a lv38 sin. What my low to mid level sins use often is a malice (ith-el-eth) claw.

Ya I know, I just want to rune it and save it for another sin I run later sometime. :)

I never can find 3 socketed claws, they must be very hard to find.

If you get a non socketed white claw with 3 sockets maximum possible, you can get Larzuk to socket it for you. It will always get the 3 sockets.

... for low level runewords. Note however thou that when making a high runeword, the price for repairs will rise quite a lot when made in a superior claw. Also note that for higher levels, claws with +skill mods will be avaleble:
Higher Katars can have from 1 to 3 skills ranging from +1 to +3. Higher Katars have a better chance of having higher level skills and higher bonuses to those skills.

Join cow games. Even if they have been on for a long time there is quite a chance that there is one laying around as rarly anyone pics them up ...

Search for a gray "Claw", "Blade Talon" or "Scissors Katar" and with a bit luck you will find a 3 socketed one pretty easy. If you ask me "Blade Talon" is the best but you can compare them yourself here (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/normal/katars.shtml).






Some advise:
Just because I feel like talking a bit and you seem quite inexperienced I will explain a bit how I normally equip and level my low level assassins:

Untill level 15; If you have the runes needed for malice then do tristram runs; or if you are in the need of the runes then do tower runs (Countess is the general source for low runes). Doing these will probably get you them/there quite easy ...

At level 15: When you have found all you need for it, make a "Malice". As you levels increase so does open wounds damage keeping this claws damage quite high compared to any rare you might find.
Here are details on Open Wounds (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=551#Open%20Wounds), but I can mention that OW will do 129/8 at level 15 to normal monsters and 340/8 at level 30 (Damage/Seconds).

At level 17: it is time to equip a "Stealth" (Tal + Eth) runeworded armor; or it you have Twitchthroe then this should be equiped at level 16

At level 25: this will serve you well for quite a wile, "Strength" can be used, but I would only use it for bosses or other really high life monsters.

As a side note I belive belt + gloves from the set "Death's Disguise" to be quite fantastic considering their price, level and strength requirement ... if you can, then use them from level 6 ... have not tried it myself but should be just quite a boost ...

What will tristram runs get me? I've seen a lot of people doing them but never know why.

They are relatively easy to do and get your experience up pretty fast :thumbsup: (peaple do them for the xp, normaly)
