I just wrote a reply about how i unleashed my wrath in a "lld" game filled with noobs. Now it made me curious. what makes you the most mad about playing D2?

Where's the, "All of the above except for the first one", button.

The thing that makes me the most mad is the people that attempt to use "noob" as an insult. Everyone is new at some point in time. Just because I don't know absolutely everything about the game or don't play 22 hours a day doesn't mean that I suck...

Hours of MF for nothing (same goes for runes)

For example, I've done at least a couple dozen hell countess runs in the past few days and only found ONE rune over ETH (was a Hel). x.x

Getting called a "noob" because I don't hack/cheat/spam/bash/use 1337speak/know what the heck I'm doing.

I was sort of dissapointed there was no "Stupid people on d2 in general" button so I picked the overall attitude, people need to <3 more. If people were nicer there wouldn't be so many hacks, so many "noob calling" episodes, and everything would be better overall.

:( sad panda

I'll second that. :p
Except for the noobs in games too, I hate that word so much because I see it everyday. If they suck at dueling, get over it and try to give them advice.

Getting scammed is leading? It's really at least half the victim's fault for being too trusting or not reading up on these things.

Hmm...dying a lot in the same area. I find it really annoying since it's as if the game was telling me 'Your character sucks! I PWN J00!' x.x

I voted for "B.Net people's attitude in general". Every public game I go to, it's always filled with noob this, eff that. As soon as someone comments about anything, the screen fills with "stfu" and "nub" spam. Thank god for the squelch button.

Thank god for the squelch button.
No kidding man, I went into a trist game earlier today and NO LESS than 60 seconds I had squelched 4 out of the 6 people in the game.

The whole MF/rush/level/etc attitude. My most memorable moments of D2 were the first few months, when people played through the levels as a team, took joy in killing all the little quill rats, gave that +2 raise skeleton wand to the necro rather than selling it for gold, etc. But it's not mad; it's really more sadness that I feel.

Exactly.

Nobody works together anymore, unless they tag along behind a higher level char to leech xp and grab as many drops as possible, and I don't remember the last time I cleared out a whole area in multiplayer, it's just a case of running through as quickly as possible to find the exit.

Sad times.

you miss the lag option there :pand the getting disconnected from a game to then be given a realm down  or getting failed to join for the first game you try opening after logging on

Overall I'm enjoying this ladder far more then last. I was lucky enough to have made some nice friends. And so now we lvl our chars together in baal runs and stuff :).

Rollbacks. I'd been very lucky in the fact that I'd experienced very few rollbacks and they'd never had an impact. Recently though I experienced about 6 rollbacks in 2 days and lost lots of mid-runes, flawless gems and most importantly a 5% Bull Kathos ring.

The whole "must have a bigger sword" (yeah, that's it) syndrome. To each his own, but why should someone else care about the damage my sword does, as long as I'm having fun playing with it??

Or in other words, when people think that you "have" to play a certain way, use certain equipment/skills/etc...

I'm not sure about others, but i regard "noob" and "newb" as totally different things. Also "OMFG NOOB, HOW CAN U KILL MY UBER GODLY CHAR. I BET U R USING DUPED GEARS!! I'M SO TOTALLY GONNA REPORT U" is different than "Hi, i'm a noob just starting D2. can some1 help me plz?"

I voted for the general attitude.

There are just countless lame things people in bnet do, so I just mention a few:
- people trying to rip others off in trades with hilarous prizes
- people trying to cheat others out of stuff ( go to the bar )
- ppl flaming other ppl in games
- mass spamming in games ( pp , pp , pp , pp , tp , tp , tp , tp )
- people telling stuff, without testing it themselves
- people not following the rules, the seven others agreed, but not leaving a game
- the aggressive attitude people have, because they donīt have to fear consequences irl
- the "who has the bigger" mentality
I could go on with this ...

If I hadnīt found some nice guys and put them on my friend list I would have quit already.

What's wrong with newbies in duel games?
noob in this context means people who do really lame stuff or use bad manners in duels - such as a level 80 joining a low level duel game and killing anyone who leaves town, or sorcs using charges on lower resist wands, or people who keep intefering with 1v1 duels by attacking one of the players fighting, or people who drink health/rejevunation potions when they look like dying. Also includes people who verbally abuse players.

It does not mean someone who is new to the game (although such people should avoid duels as they will get killed every time until they have a bit of experience and duelling gear on them)

I hate leechers....ALOT!!!!! I do cow runs alot but I accidentally killed the king a while ago so i now make the gamw with different char. in a pubie game and rejoin. In the pasr week I have seen 5 unique rings and 2 unique ammies along with many other items dissapear b/c some lvl 30 char suicides himself to get it while I am busy with cows. I try to aviod them but it is immposibble. They follow you around where every you go and don't do a thing to help you. All they do is suck up your wealth. I realise that it is my fault since I am making a pubby game but that doesn't make it less annoying. It happens all over too. No matter where I go there are always leechers. Doing nothing to help and just sucking up the drops like a vacuum. I have seen level 20 or so chars die 15 times just to get a rare ring in the middle of a huge boss pack. RAWR!!!!!! I just think that it is common courtisy that if you are in someone elses run and not helping them then you should leave the drops alone!

I hate those leachers as well in cow games. Know waht I do? Run out from the portal, grab some cows and lure them back to the portal. Then run like the dickens to park the cows at the portal. Then I run to the farthest part of the map, leavingall the cows alive. Then I start cowing. Whenever a leecher gets close, I take off and run through a ton of cows. Not too many of them that can follow that. Call me a jerk or whatever, but at least I have a little time to check the drops.

Eh, I thought about that but I like helping people. They usually need xp or smtin so I don't tk them. I usually just tele ahead and leave the other people to mop up the cows I've left. I also usually go king hunting and kick his skinny arse right away while unpartied so noone is a jerk n ruins everyone elses cow level making skills. :D

Talking about this reminds me of my misfortune. I found an eth cv with 4 sockets  and didn't know what it was worth so traded it for like, 2 lems. 1 day later I realized that I needed it for insight  .

The duel game noobs one for me. I hate:
people who regularly, on purpose, nk the moment people leave the town
who gold steal when no-one else is
who are totally immune to all elements - and have the nerve to think they are in some way better than the sorcs etc they can kill.
who join a lvl 30 dueling game and promptly attack everyone
who do all the above, but happen to be good enough/have good gear enough that I can't kill them well with any of my chars (i.e. very rich charger/smiter/zealot palas, typical ww barbs with eni, rich bow amas)
and fohers.

If all the people who exhibited 'noob' behaviour, then I wouldn't be bothered, as I'd just be able to kill them. But some of them are actually quite skillful players who happen to have issues with their personality.

I chose "when you get scammed" , even though the "when" part is rather confusing.
I got fooled once in a switch trick and have been careful after that.

What's the worst, however, is that people buy game-items with real cash.
..and then claim to be "godly" or "pro" players with their gear :D
Of course it's everyone's own business but I find it the most pathetic in d2.

Cheers.

Doing MF runs with a group, so now I only do MF runs in a private passworded game so that I get all that drops, instead of getting nothing for my time running.

My necro have a very effective way of dealing with leechers who don't help, snatches drops & yet acted like you owned them a living.

Its called bone prison. Its basically a WWE cage match between Leecher A & Cow B

Only people immuned to it are tele sorcs or enigma wearing hammerdins...but then again...if they're that good, they wun be leeching items...

I personally hate the "You failed to join game" msg.
Not just becos it could be a trade game with something i wanted bad, but also becos it takes like FOREVER for the game to realise that you can't join the game while making us sit there staring at the monastery doors, straining to see the slightest ray of light peeping through the door crack.

I can't agree with you more. I always wondered why they think we need 2 hours to read 4 words... Also, with the bone prison, thats a good idea. It would be funny as hell to see you trap a leecher. You could even make it so that he can never get his body. Lol.

And barbs with WW, Leap, or Leap Attack. And assassins with WW.

But nonetheless, good tactic.

I guess my latest annoyance would be that, i spend hours running my MF summoner with well over 600 MF and get nothing. Then i spend about 30 minutes leveling my trapper with 15% MF(tal's belt) and end up with a ton of things i've never even found before. Such is luck i guess.

The thing that annoys me most about DII is the lack of balance in the rune words. An awesome runeword should have a proportionally awesome cost. But there should be more mid range options available too. They would have been well served to try for a "Normal" "Nightmare" and "Hell" option for each socketable, and each # of sockets past one.
