maybe some of you know how to use a sorc to effectively own nihlathak, but most sorcs probably just MF countess and summoner in a pub game - and let the good and godly drops from nihlathak go to the hammerdins and wind druids??
those who make wind druids and hammerdins just to do "effective" key runs, aren't effective at all lol, it's just an easy way out.
so here's the nihlathak guide for sorcs.
well firstly, being a pure lite sorc is much preferable for nih-slaying, and for all kinds of mfing(key runs, meph, pindle, andy, etc).
however, the gear required to kill nihlathak is a quite pricey. however, you don't need griffons or a 25/-5 eschutas to kill him, all you need is good light dmg, nice life, nature's peace(if you are that dedicated to just killing nih) and if possible, an infinity merc.
my sorc don't have an merc that has infinity nor own a nature's peace ring, but is still able to do nihlathak runs(at points of time, full reju potions are required though). the odds of encountering a lite immuned nih is pretty slim, so i rather take the chance.
my sorceress only dies of either, getting killed by obscene amounts of lizards/zombies charging at me or well, just getting corpse exploded.
so all the while i'm nihlathak-running, it's usually a public game(baal runs always), so monsters are really hard and mean and it's scary. so here's what i do on every run...
firstly, the "scary monsters", are the lizards, zombies, skelly archers and those flying feline irritants that spit red balls at you - so it's pretty much everything except those little beasts that surround nih and those phy/poison immuned etheral looking beasts, those are pretty nothingness.
so when teleporting to nihlathak, depending on the locations of the "scary monsters", i either stop right at the front of the nihlathak-platform or at the sides or the back of the nih-platform.
then again, depending on where the scary monsters are, i just walk away a distance, leaving my merc to tank those scary things, and hopefully nih will be distracted from my lite sorc.
when i successfully done that, i just spam lightning at him. note that beasts will also be killed while doing that, so you wouldn't want to stop zapping nih since he might CE you when he stopped his FHR animation. also try not to be too close to any corpses while zapping nih.
should nihlathak start he's corpse explosion on you, repeat the first step again - teleport into a spot depending on where the scary monsters are, and walk away and continue zapping him.
now here's the harder part.
if nihlathak drops nothing nice, just go back town or w/e.
but if drops a D-key or some cool stuff, do not teleport right over(in the middle of all the beasts) to collect them if there are scary monsters in the scenario who might kill you while you try to collect your booty. just kill all the non lite-immune ones quickly, let your merc tank, and run with your precious cargo.
i hope this helps ^^.
