my friend told me to put 15 skill points into warmth, but they seem so wasteful. He said my merc(insight) will die a lot in hell, so i need warmth to assist. I was just going to carry a lot of mana pots though. Is that smarter?

my sorc has only 1 point in warmth and never ever has problems with mana :)

If his insight merc dies a lot, then he doesn't have the skills to control his merc, or that he doesn't equip his merc properly. Teleing is your friend, so is leech. Mine rarely dies except to iron maiden and extra strong/extra fast frenzy tours.
Edit: He does to the mega bugged viper, though.

Only put one point in Warmth. +skills will get it up to a respectable level.

I agree with Evrae. :thumbsup: Now when I first started playing this game with my first character, I put 18 points into Warmth. It sure helped the mana regen. The only problem was, I noticed I was still giving my character blue potions when the mana supply was low. What a waste.

I'm not sure of the formula, but your rate of regen increases as your total amount of mana increases, counting your regular level bonus, your points in energy, and any items you wear that give + to mana, most of the time by level 60-70 I can't spend mana fast enough to make my blue ball go down.
1 point in Warmth is all you need.
You should let your gear and GC's cover Warmth up until you've maxed out everything else that you'd deem important for your Sorc's growth.

Putting pts into warmth isn't a waste for some ES builds if they have high mana. (Orbers)

depends on your build...
what type of sorc are you?
if a frost (anything cold related) 1pts enough
if a pyro (fire related) 1pts enough
if a shocker (light related) 1pts enough
if a ES you might want to think of 5-10 pts
if an enchantress you will want to max warmth for the syn that it gives to enchant
if a hybrid that is not a es/enchant dont bother with more than 1pts
remember that your gear and GC's do give anywhere from +5 to +20 or more to skills and with a simple +5 you recive a 90% regeneration that should give you more than enough to live with...
