Hi,
Assassin can prebuff a shadow warrior or master with weapon switch +3 shadow or with +3 shadow helm then put another helm. The minion remains at the level it was spawned. Idem for a valkyrie prebuffed by a zon.

Now for a necro is it possible to do the same with golem and minions? I read some thread about prebuff golem but it was not clear.
My guess is NO for skellies. When I raise 12 skeleton with leoric/homonculus, switching to off hand weapon with less +skill results in some skellies collapse.
However, I guess their intrinsic level remains (if clvl = 85, skellies lvl = 85).

With golem I don't know: if raised at lvl 12 and lvl 12 golem mastery with +golem /GM wand, does switching to leoric (as example) will reduce the level of the golem/GM

You can prebuff both. However, if your prebuff equipment allows more skellies then your 'playing' equipment. Those skellies drop when you switch back to your playing equipment. But the remaining skellies are prebuffed.

So if I raise skellies with undead crown (+3 Skel mastery) and wand +3 summon + 3 Skel mastery and switch to Shako and Leoric, the Skel mastery lvl will remain unchanged on skellies.?

I'd say Shako + Leoric would be better then the +3 Mastery helm and +3RS/+3SM wand.

Mastery Helm / Wand

+6 Skelly Mastery
+3 Raise Skelly

Shako / Leoric

+4 ALL Skills
+3 Raise Skelly
+3 Skelly Mastery
..Both are bumped up to +7 after you count in the all skills.

Bonus (From using Shako / Leoric)...

+1 extra Mastery
+4 extra Raise

AOKL has one nasty and very lethal property : chance to cast bonearmor.

I have it on switch with homunculus when raising. Then I switch to HOTO and some kind of shield with high resistance.

Makes it a LOT easier :D

Sure, I copied. I may use different set up like adding a shield, whatever. But the final answer is "the Skel Mastery used to raise the skellies remain unchanged" and "the golem and golem Mastery lvl remain unchanged when switching" ?

For that bone prison, arrghh , I'm fed up with it. But I don't have Hoto.

Yes, the levels will stay the same they are summoned at. Same answer if a skill shrine was active at the time they were summoned.

Goodluck with him. Mines progressing towards 95 now. A really fun build.

I dont know about the rest of you but occy's teleport has saved me a lot of times. Bone prison on the other hand is a death trap.

What other ways can we "buff" a Necro's minions with item/charge based skills?

Enchant? Warcries?

Enchant works well on skellies. My army kills fine alone but with enchant, it becomes a monster.

They can also get battle orders and shout, any pally auras or druid spirits are also applied. Am I missing any? :S

U can and will also be using curses to power up their dmg, with either lower resistances, amplify dmg or heck even iron maiden (versus melee chars in pvp). But this all depends on what skels u use:
for melee ones, amplify dmg
for the mages, lower resistance
for meatwall iron maiden (revives)
