What would be a "popular" sorceress - a sorceress that people would like to have around? Like paladins, everyone likes an aura.

The only idea I can think of would be Enchant-Frozen orb. 30 pts. into orb and mastery should allow some attack ability, while 20 Enchant 20 Fire mastery and 20 Warmth should make for an enchant that would enhance any physical character, even if just for the AR. Assume blue gear.

Any ideas?

Or a sorceress that can tele baal safely and quickly, but that requires more than blue gear......

Well, after three sessions on battle.net, anything beyond blue gear is hard to expect. Although I'm sure my first sorceress, a blizzard full cold one, will change that once some MF gear becomes availabble.

P.S. A funny thing: The second sorceress, the friendly one I'm thinking off has only lived for about five minutes so far, and it just so happens that her merc is HIGHER level than she is herself...

If your going for party play and don't absolutly mean to kill, try to max staticfield. If you ever get a hold of infinity runeword either for the sorc or her merc, almost all lightning immune will lose their immunity. Therefore staticfield could affect all ennemy.

I personnaly tried a Hydra static field sorc and had great fun, adding enchant in that for merc and party should be much fun.

With blue gear, you will do the crappiest damage on earth with hydras. Maxing static is out of the question.

Lol? Infinity? Whoever can afford infinity can get occy + lidless + shako and etc. obviously the guy can't get Infinity any time soon... gg suggestion.

If you're just starting and has only access to blue gear, make a full blizz mf sorc. Keep running meph over and over, and you will eventually get decent items like occy shako lidless viper etc etc which will be extremely effective for your sorc. goodluck. ;)

Which is exactly why my blizzard sorceress is lvl 46 and the "friendly" one is at lvl 1...

Two things will make a sorc popular, teleing and static. Everyhing alse ( like Infinity on merc ) requires wealth.

I have made a littele guide for a low budget, partyfriendly sorc.

Hi,

Could telekenisis be a group friendly skill? It knocks monsters out of the way... Could be handy against ancients, baals minions and such...

IMO also thunderstorm can be party friendly while u dash out damage and set monsters in recovery animation...

It's a shame a sorc can cast the cold armors on anyone but herself...

grz,

Both spells you mentioned only affect one monster, so they won´t have too much impact for the whole team. You wan´t mass control/destruction for being a big help for the group.

Can anyone explain what "blue gear" is?

Are you guys referring to Tal's Set, or a certain batch of runewords or is this something new?

Ah. "Magic" items. Ordinary magic items are named in blue, so blue items. Specifically, this means that the sorceress build should work withou relyin on rare, set and unique items, as these must be found, but upon shop-originating gear.

In essence, for a poor character.

Well, my char might be using unique items but you can trade for these and will get most of them for a couple of PGems, so no wealth required. If you want to find everything yourself make a mf-sorc first. I suggest pure Blizzard, as these could kill mephi even naked ( only stuffed with mf-gear ).
