Obedience could become the new dlimb, if people give it a chance.

Obedience could become the new dlimb, if people give it a chance.Except that Obedience takes up a 4x2 space and d-limb only a 3x1 space. Most duelers who would prebuff with an obedience probably have a whole host of other prebuff/twinking gear (think 160 res shields).

Speaking of Obedience...what's the best Polearm to put this in? I'm having a hard time finding ANY 5 OS polearm..let alone an Etheral C. Voulge! Any ideas?

Just get an Eth no sockets Thresher (speed) or Cryptic Axe (power). Then you can go to Larzuk and socket it for 5 holes. It's what I did to get my 3 Obediences for me and my friend's characters. ^^
Cow level drops Eth Threshers a fair bit. ;D

Will the thresher automatically get 5 sockets?

Yes, Larzuk puts the max into white items every time.

no he doesnt, only in items found after act 2 nm... obviously the elite items all are found beyond act 2 nm, but that is of little momentum. be carefull with that kind of statement my friend ;)

Normal items add the max number of Sockets depending on the item's level (this is determined by the level of the monster that dropped it) and the inherent maximum number of Sockets for the item's base type. So you may not always receive the "max" number of Sockets. - Arreat Summit
Well, I guess this leads to the question, what are the exact ilvl breakpoints for sockets? It cant possibly be just act2 nm.
Ilvl 41 for the last breakpoint. First one is at 26 if you want to know.

Yes, thanks
huh yeah so "after act 2 nm and a few in act 2 nm"... im more a generalistic kind of guy ;)
But if you find a cracked thresher and make it "normal" with the cube it has ilvl 1 so Larzuk is not as generous anymore.
