Alright, I'm bored, so I'm going to post whats happened since I came back to playing.
First, I made myself a sorceress, meteorb. I decided to take it slow and quest everything through. All was going well, with the occasional chant help from friends (shift and jules), I was on my feet... I was soloing everything with ease, using a ravenclaw bow and my helpful act1 mercenary. I was goin strong with some random stuff I found (infernal hat, etc... nothing too special) and the ravenclaw (a generous donation)
She was level 26 by the time I got to the chaos sanctuary, and going strong. I was driving my way through, got to almost the middle section, and someone IMed me (Instant Message, not Iron Maiden) and since I had just been talking, I had "hide windows" unchecked. Sure enough, came back to a dead sorceress.
Well, I started a new sorceress, but then really didnt want to do exactly what I had just done over again. So, I made a frost zealot. I leveled him up, did most of the quests (except act 3, i'll be honest, I definitely just got the WP's from 55th_syn and skipped most of it) I had some decent gear thanks to some lucky finds and donations, full sigons and a mahim oak curio. I lucked out and found a clegs sword, and Terry_Manning gave me amn+tir, but I didnt have a 2 socket weapon.
I was in my low 20's when I got to the chaos sanctuary, and was rollin through things. I was a little nervous about iron maiden, so I switched to a unique sword (I think the sabre... its 3-9 damage, open wounds...). At about that time my sister got on, and had a level 20 cleric. I helped her with act3, and we began the chaos sanctuary... The fact that I had ridiculously low physical damage, but not bad cold damage made the chaos sanctuary/iron maiden not much of a big deal. I almost died to the venom lord boss pack (nasty fire damage) chugged a couple full juvs and S+E'd. Came back, seperated the pack out and killed em. Other than that, we had no trouble. Diablo took a little bit time, but with my sister's cleric shooting holy bolt at me, I didnt have to heal once.
I think I was level 25 entering act5. Ran through the bloody foothills easily, killed shenk, and then continued on to free the barbarians for my runes. Got crystalline and ancients WP from some guy, and did those as well. I was level 28 by this point. Then started baal runs, and gained levels really fast (found a good baal game, and we had no trouble at all) Stopped baaling at level 40, as I always do.
On one of my last baal runs, I also found a 2 socket superior flail, and "strength'd" it for some crushing blow. So, at this point, he was wearing full sigons, strength flail, mahim oak, 2 magic AR/mod rings. (str and fire resist i believe) Transferred over the 2 good items I do have... griswolds armor and butchers pupil, and at level 41, after a few fruitless solo baal runs, hes ready for nightmare.
I'm looking to improve his CB (hopefully find a guilliames face, or save enough pgems to get one), some Prubies for the griswolds armor, and a good shield for ancients pledge. Gonna take it slow and do most of the NM quests, and hopefully start NM baals around 50. Yeah, ok, thats about it.
