View Full Version : Please help me, I need a PvP build
I have a BvC with all vita and average man's equipment. I have a naked full vita lightning trapper as well.
My computer just won't rectify itself when it comes to Diablo II's FPS. I've been told many times my setup is plenty for DII and my ping is very low. My FPS just won't work, though.
This means when I PvP, it will be very laggy if I turn on automap. Thus, I've grown a bit acustomed to playing without automap (though it's a huge handicap). As well, anytime something flashy happens I slow down a bit. My own trap debris from my trapsin (along with other trapsins) will definitely cause me to slow down.
Is there any build that will give me an easier time with all these problems? Like...a slower paced build that doesn't need lightning quick response or automap guidance. Anything close would help too. Thanks in advance.

set your direx mode to d2 and your fps should be good enough.
no build is that great if your screen keeps freezing u just need to fix your computer problems first. And bvcs aren't too great with average man's equip. It's a build that requires tanking others and if your gear/build isn't better than theirs you'll get outtanked, espeically when it comes to fighting other melees which now make up a rather large portion of the pvp community in us.west nl.

Make a hammerdin, they aren't as lag-sensitive and can do fairly well with ghettogear.
How exactly do I set directx?
By average equipment I mean I'm missing a gem/rune in my Arreat's, I use eBotDz instead of Grief, and I'm missing a Doom on switch and I use 20 life instead of 3/20/20.

Plus your system could be running a crapload of spyware if you never scan with a program like Lavasoft's Adaware. Even a 3GHz P4 with 1GB of ram will run like a P1 333Mhz if you have 25 spyware processes running in the background...
Also, try updating your video card drivers.

I usually find more things with spybot even after adaware
I use Spybot Search and Destroy as well as ran a few checks from my dad's unknown cleaner, and Norton AntiVirus. The only thing that I can think of that's wrong software-wise is a lot of registries that I have not cleaned up because I ran out of subscription for my registry cleaning program.
Thanks for advice, I'll see if it works after modifying the DirectX.
