View Full Version : Trang's Set
I have a question on the Trang set...
How did most of you acquire your set pieces? Did you find them while playing, or did you have to trade or acquire them by another means?
I'm sort of a newbie, and determined to assemble the set, and I wonder the best way to go about it...
make a standerd fishymancer, go kill nm baal/ hell mefi alot, trade the stuff u find, thats how i did it
with enough baal runs in hell or meph or top of the hill in act 5 (the 2 spots) you should get all the items. The helm and belt are the hardest to find.
In my experience, it is about 11,000,000 times easier to acquire any particular item by trading for it than it is by trying to find it yourself, with the lone exception of Isenhart's armor, which is more common than cooties.
Collect gems, trade valuables you don't need for currency, reroll charms, or use whatever method you like to acquire wealth, then trade the wealth for the stuff you need. It's just easier.

Well, regarding overall rarity it is rather similar to Tal-Rasha's set.
It has:
Two easy to find exceptional items (The gloves and armor for Trang's, the belt and mask for Tal's).
One hard to find exceptional class-specific item (The trophy for Trang's, the orb for Tal's).
Two hard to find elite items (The helm and belt for Trang's, the armor and amulet for Tal's).
As for assembling the set I think you are better off trying to play the trade game than finding all the items yourself.
As for the trade value of the individual set pieces I am not enough of a trade expert to have a reliable opinion but:
The gloves are so common they are nigh worthless. As a throwaway item with little trading potential you might beg a pair off someone. More likely you have already found several pairs while MF'ing for tradeables.
The armor is also fairly common and is of little use outside completing the set. Some less affluent necromancers might use it for the +2 to summon, but they are more likely to use a Vipermagi, a Skullder's or a Bone runeword.
You should be able to get one for a useful exceptional.
The belt is somewhat rare and is popular for the "three piece Trang's" setup often used by poison using necromancers. Some might also use it for the Cannot be Frozen if they for some reason doesn't want to use a Ravenfrost.
Expect to be offering a useful elite or very useful exceptional for them.
The head is actually rather rare and like belt every self-respecting poisonmancer wants one, thus they might end up a bit pricy.
The helmet has no real use outside completing the set but is quite rare. I think it is somewhat less valuable than the belt for this reason, but then again bone visages doesn't drop all that often.

Well, if only Tal's ammy and armor become as cheap as Trang's belt and helm...... I found quite a few Trang armors now, like how I have found quite a few IK Mauls.
can anyone suggest me, where can I buy the set, or whats the best place for trading at all? i'm kinda new here myself...

Sucks that the Trang's Belt is worth more then the whole dam set. Good luck gettin that thing. I have had up to 4 Trang sets where all I was missing was the belt. People want a freakin Jah for that dam thing (that is not an exageration).

Lots of people are insane and want 3 times what a thing is worth if they think you are stupid enough to pay it. It was actauly finding the belt off hell baal that got me interested in getting the complete set. I already had found wing and gloves. Finished by trading lem or pul for helm and armor.

I've had the entire trang-oul's set two or three times. It's way easier to rush people hell (nonladder) and trade an ist for the whole set.

I can't stop finding heads. I've had at least four clogging up my mules, but I've only seen the belt drop once - and I've found the helmet once, gloves more than four times, and armor up to 10 times.
Be sure to not accidentally trade for an unidentified Nat's helmet.
Heh, it's funny. I have the set and don't know what to do with it, so I finally trade it, and two weeks later I have to get another one for my Magicianbarb.

If people sense that you actually need something, they'll automatically jack up the price.
