Charge and "Freezes Target" mod, do they contradict each other?

Does freezes target completely screw up ur charging abilities? When u freeze an enemy on striking, doesn't it create that effect like they are up against a wall instead of knockin them back?
I was thinking of making an exile for my smite/charger, but then I remembered that the freezing mod on exile might be a bad idea.
O' almighty knowledgable ones, pls advise me? :p

Hit Freezes Target does work in smite in the way that it stops the enemy from being knockback. So i figure it works in charge too.

I equipped sureshrill frost on my pally and it froze the target some of time. It was this morning before work so i didn't get a chance to test it alot. I'm gonna assume tho that freezing weapons would make charge unaffective.
