Well, I finally decided to give Uber Tristram a shot. I'm a level 84 zmiter with decent gear (Grief, HoZ, Duress, Guillames, Gores, Verdungos, Draculs). I only have about 1400hp and 14500 defense, and my resists were horrible (75-75-54-65), but I gave it a shot anyway. Here is what I did:
I opened the portal in act 5, and went in. I immediately ran up towards the top of Tristram, and headed down the left wall. I then slowly edged out from the left corner. Eventually, I see Mephisto fly across my screen, the game freezes for about 20 seconds, and then I'm dead with a massive number of skeletons around my body. I head back in the portal, charge at Mephisto, and then charge up to the top of Tristram away from my body, where I let meph kill me. At least he was out of the way so I can try to get my body now...
After about 4 tries, I finally go my body and gear on, cast holy shield, and killed about 100 skeletons. With my immediate area clear, I headed back for Mephisto. I cast lifetap on him from afar with a wand, and proceded to smite the hell out of him. I got him down to about 10% health in maybe 7 or 8 seconds, but then I died in 1 hit to some sort of attack. I headed back down, charged in and got my body, and began smiting him again. I ended up killing him, and then I dispatched the rest of the skeletons around me.
At this point, I headed towards the center of tristram. Uber diablo cast a bone prison on me, and then it happened... Connection Interrupted.... When I got back to the chatroom, I frantically tried to get back into the game... luckily it was still there and it hadn't closed.
So at this point, I went back inside the portal. Uber diablo was standing nearby, so I ran over and started smiting him. He died incredibly easily, maybe about 6 or 7 seconds total. After Diablo was dead, I started to have a good feeling about this experience... I stopped being cautious, and I just ran over and found baal, and proceeded to smite the hell out of him. Again, he was incredibly easy. He dropped a torch and SoH, so I grabbed them and got the hell out of there before there were too many of those physical immunes around.
I ended up with a 12 all stats, 17 all resists barb torch. Not my ideal torch, but I guess it could have been worse.
I learned a few things from this experience that I thought people might find helpful. First of all, LAG is your number one enemy. Mephisto was easy, once you actually started smiting. Diablo and Baal were just a joke. The skeletons mephisto creates are pretty easy, and die in 1-2 hits from zeal. Diablo creates those Baalrog guys, but they are real easy too. He only had a chance to make 5 or 6 though before he was dead. Baal on the other hand makes phyiscally immune monsters, so I would recommend killing him last.
Overall, it was a pretty fun time, but I got nervous there a couple times, like when I had mephisto and about 100 skeletons sitting on my corpse, and when I got disconnected...
