View Full Version : Does smite Trigger "on striking" effects?
i was just wondering if smite triggers "on strike" effects, say like life tap from draculs or exile.
reason i'm asking, is that i want to uber trist solo.
i tried doing this with hammerdin. Diablo and baal died easily. However meph took me 2 hours to kill, and i barelly killed him using 16 full rejuvs, and i consider myself extremelly lucky i killed him. On the process i lost 100 millon exp on my 91 hammerdin. I don't ever wanna solo with hammerdin again.......
now, since i solo i would like to know if i can just smite instead of having to cast the life tap by zealing, since i believe i will be dead before getting my zeals into meph.
Also is there a huge difference between maxed smite and 1 point only in smite? of course i'll have maxed fana and holy shield.
just out of curiosity does fortitude add to smite?

dmg on smite doesnt matter if your cb (crushing blow) % is high enough you'll continuously blow 1/20th off the remaining life of the uber meaning you'll need to dmg him in the last couble of blows only to be effective...
yes chance to trigger does work on smite as well thats why all those smiters want draculs and/or exile for the lifetap as that will make a huge difference in beating the ubers...

some people advice zeal to trigger LT just because you attack a lot faster with zeal (4fpa) and your LT will trigger faster.
Then you switch to smite.

But then, remember that for having a successful hit with zeal, you need AR too. Smite isnt depending on AR, meaning you do not have to sacrifice gear for getting the AR up.
A fast smite usually does the trick just great.
If you use exile, you should definitely use smite, since the chance to trigger it is so high :)

im planning to use both draculs and exile now... but i was wondering, does the chance to cast stack with them both?
They won't stack because the Slvl isn't the same.
thx for the replies.
i just made a zealot/smiter pretty good, although i liked the 09 days better.
Anywayz, does Fortitude's +ed add to smite damage? or just weapon damage?

you can also have a lifetap wand on weapon switch, one with charges (lvl 5 life tap 97/97 charges). No worries that way. but if u have exile it casts very often so no problems there.
