Help for a poor zon [Archive] - Diablo 3 & Diablo 2 Forums

I've built a decent javazon, but still need a lot of improvement on equipment for her. Mostly I'm worried about her dying - she seems to do great damage, just pretty fragile. I'm pretty poor (I have 2 ums to trade and that's about it), so I need some ungodly suggestions, perhaps in prioritized order (like change shield first, then change this.. etc). Sorry in advance that the numbers aren't exact, I'm at school right now so I can't look at her.

LEVEL: 87 so far, will get her to 89-91

SKILLS:
LF - MAX (37 after +skills)
CS - MAX (~34?)
PowerStrike - MAX
Valk - 3 (10 after skills)
All the other 1 point wonders (dodge, evade, pierce, etc)
The rest in Lightning bolt.

STATS: (20 more to place)
STR: ~160
DEX: ~160
VIT: ~310
ENE: Base
Life: ~1350
Resists: Fire - max, the rest about 50-60

EQUIPMENT:
Head: +2 zon coronet w/ ~12 all res, ~20 mf
Ammy: A prismatic (I think its around 18% all cept one res is like 40%) with +1 zon skills
Rings: Measly 9 all res ring, another with like 30 lightning res
Weapon: 198% titans (not eth)
Shield: Spirit monarch
Body Armour: Lionheart
Belt: TGods
Gloves: +3 jav, 10% ias
Boots: 20% rw, two resists around 25%
Charms: 2 +1 jav skillers with 36 life and like 18 life.. the rest are life and/or res charms. No anni or torch.

Merc:
Helm: Crown of thieves
Armour: Some unique that start with 'T'.. isn't too good
Weapon: Insight Thresher (non-eth), lvl 18 meditation, mid-range dmg

I'm thinking the first thing I need to do is replace the rings.. Like maybe a ravenfrost and dwarfstar? How can I get max resistance easily without sacrificing life or damage?

Any suggestions?

Except my zon is fragile and may die to a swarm of dolls or something. I don't have any mf gear on her either, and I have no sorc yet. I do have a trapsin who is a little less fragile however - but I would still have to run which would take a while.

Is there anything I can get with my 2x um that would improve my zon? If not, is there anything I could get with a bit more (once i find something else).

I'd pry pop out spirit for a gerkes, with gerkes you'll need ~190 dex or so probably for max block, also will help your resists and your dmg is fine. Might also be worth mentiong you can probably get a lot for the java gc with 36 life, not really super necessary for you.

You could get another java charm with those 2x um I'm pretty sure. If you were to trade that 36 lifers as well you could probably get a few good runes for that and you could maybe get a torch or some more charms.
I would also suggest getting at least one ravenfrost and maybe a dual leech ring (or just either mana or life) because that will help you a lot.

Leech works on ranged attacks. I can't believe you've gone this far without any mana leech. >.<

What exactly are the problems you're having with your Zon? I mean your resists aren't completely maxed, and your blocking probably isn't very good with a 'Spirit' (I maintain that 'Spirit' Monarchs are for CtA switches and Softcore only), but the build looks fine to me. My almost lvl 90 Zon does fine in Hell and your gear is about as good as mine.

Get some mana leech. As secksie as your circlet is, you might consider Tal's Mask instead, unless you think you can get a bunch of mana leech from your jewelery.

Anyway, here's my mediocre but still very effective zon:

Tal's Mask (Stealskull when mfing)
Highlord's ammy
eth upped Titan's (these don't affect your LF dmg, so don't bother getting them unless you Jab a lot)
'Duress' Boneweave
'Sanctuary' Troll Nest
+2jav 20%ias rare gloves
TGod's
Gores
Raven
rare ring with LL, resists, and mana

Might Merc

20 LF, 20 CS, 20 LS, passives as needed, rest in Jab

1391/275 life/mana
75/75/85/75 resists
