View Full Version : Using Treachery for prebuff is BM?
I just dueled a Windy. I was using my BvC, of course. I beat him, and afterwards, he cried about "poison and fade", which was both ONLY from treachery, meaning about 3xx/0.4 poison and lvl 15 fade. Any of you consider using Treachery, Bone, Rain or any other items to get a ctc? (Bone gives bone armor, Rain gives cyclone, treachery gives fade and venom)
I find that BM. Anything that people use to prebuff that is CTC is BM, IMO. But still, anythign can be BM.

quick question:
can ctc stack? like fade and cyclone armor? or if you have fade on already and you cast cyc armor, does fade turn off?
thx
CJ
Yes they stack.
If it makes someone loose, it's bound to be BM for them.
They aren't bm, but they Are a huge waste of time. You don't need them, so why waste time you could be dueling.

if they stack....
fade/cyc armor/bone armor/max block on a pally = gg?
i've never seen more than 1 prebuff armor work... can anyone confirm this? Can you really have all 3 on at the same time???
that's sick...

Ya you can though it's a waste of time. Cyclone and Bone armour arn't gonna help a lot with no synergies.
It's not really BM but it's rather annoying.
Though it's funny seeing barbs take mins to get the fade up. Go out of town, Bo, gets jumped by a hammerdin.
It takes less than 10 secs to activate Fade when running around a group of fallens.
but it does suck to die right out of the gate to a hammy.
Well, as said, i was dueling a windy. And i don't have coa berber, and i decided to fade myself for the 15% dr, which gave me total 35% dr, with enigma, 13% dungo and fade. And i had just made the treachery, so i wanted to use it. But the real main reason i made is so that if i get 2v1'ed by a blizz sorc and a lightning sorc, i can have both resistances maxed without gear changes. And, it's quite annoying when u get stuck in the middle of cursed mana burning fallens :( the only thing u can then do is leap.

Ahaha, or HIT them.
Ahaha, or HIT them.
yea, u can do that too, but you would need to SWITCH to normal attack, coz it doesn't consume mana.

u sure u get DR% from fade? i thought u only get DR% passively from putting hard points into fade itself

lots of budget bvcs use prebuff for extra resist. dr too. you dont need actual points into since sins dont need to actually sink in points either.

ww defaults to normal attack with no mana :).

The easiest way to prebuff Fade, is to place yourself in a fire, or just berserk so you get 0 def and all the monsters will slap you.
Sewers is a nice place to do this, or some place in act 1 with campfire.

hmm i dont think fade is bm as it is another way to prebuff ur res i think bm is when u use too much absorb, i.e against a light char u use a tg plus 2 wisp rings
i.e in some cases like against a good foh i use fad to boost my res more but i dont stack abs as that would definetly be bm
however i do think if u prebuff on bone armour against a mele build then y it can be bm especially if ur in a bvb fight and a barb is using bonearmour while still have max dr.

in most cases were i have used fade is against some fohers and when im dueling with team noobs that dont fight 1 v 1
Now without the fade i would have had no chance in there with a foh conviction then a blizz sorc that can do like 12k i think in dmg.

I don't ever use any absorb, outside ravens, which i use for cold dmg, ar and dex. I don't bm, unless someone bm's me first. The only "bm" that i do, is wear a doom on other hand if i got a team of with a smiter or charging foher in it. The only gear i even change vs anyone, is beast for doom, gores for hotspurs, hl+ravens for angelics, arreat for guillaumes. I do have a tgod but i barely ever use it, since with my 6-7k life and max lightning resistance i don't see 15% less dmg go over the speed of arachnid with tele :P

You don't need arach if you use fc rings or trangs. Tgods can make a vast difference when you are up against multiple lightning chars in a team, which happens a lot. If they cry about the miniscule absorb on tgods, let them. They would cry about anything~
In many cases, absorb is the Fairest way to lower damage. I'd Much rather have someone wear a dwarfstar than hotspurs vs me when I'm using a fire sorc. I'd also Much rather have someone use tgods vs me using a lightning sorc than a 4 lo shield. But somehow, idiot clan dueling people decided tgods was bm, but 4 lo is just fine.

"BM" is a myth. It's a term made just for arguing on gaming forums like this.

It's generally used by the weak who lose and complain.
You never see people who actually use Fade prebuff calling them BM when they win. Though when they lose to someone that uses it, they whine.

No, it's not.
No, it's not.
That's very correct, I'm on Europe Softcore Non-Ladder, and i made my Treachery. Check Arreat Summit, it doesn't say it's "Ladder only" but rather "1.11 Patch Only" or similar. And i really only use the prebuff to be sure to have 75 all res in hell and some more dr. Venom i mainly only use for builds that like to play defensive, like ES Sorcs, Ele Druid. And as for my BvC, i got a few 20 life scs, a few 1x vita scs, a 16/14 life/mana sc, and 6x wc sks, rest mastery sks (gonna change for 3x life gcs, possibly), 10/16 anni and 11/18 barb torch. The gear i have is Enigma Bp, 397/13 eth BOTD ba, 264/38 Beast BA, 331/41 Doom Ba, and some resi stacking gear, and of course Treachery Bp. Oh, and also got some bo prebuff stuff, like 5 bo deli.

Thats correct and anyways ur allowed to wear 1 absorb item. I can even accept if the person stacks his res and wear 1 abs item.
Plus yesterday i was fighting someone with a light shield with perf topazs as well as full abs and 95 res. With my foh/auradin now i was f...ed in that fight i was barely doing dmg.
Now that is my case of bm cuz ontop of negating my conviction with the shield he had full abs on as well
but in general if ppl bm u dont hold back and play fair u bm them back. I dont whine about it i just do it back

So you are telling to me that he had a ga, 2x wisps and a light sabre, and still he killed you ? Funny. My old smiter used resist lightning, 198 ptopaz pala shield, kiras umed, upg umed ga, and a grief pb. And the only way a foher could beat me was 20/20 armor, 25/25 scep, 5/5 helm and a 20/20 shield. That way i only had 6x lightning resistance, and he could actually dmg me. But coz i wanted to win so much, i just charge namelocked to death.

lol no not with a lightsabre or ga.
he used a p topaz shield plus thudergods and 2x wisp so thn he still had grief but i had my aura as a backup anyway which helped (fire aura)

So he didn't have FULL abs. Abs is capped at 50%. And if someone really needs to use anything else but 160 light res shield versus a fohadin, then that's weak. I just used to use those items and skills because i had wanted an unbeatable character. But later on came the better smiters and kicked my ***. Then i moved to BvC.

So my super-bm-craiplz-pally doesn't have 20wisp+20wisp+20tgods+25sabre absorb?! my life has been a lie.

see now u see how lame i thought this was but still i was able to take him on fire aura then i brought my BvA barb to pwn his @#!! so it went well anyway.
Btw i did not know that absorb was capped?
but 2x wisp (perf) and tg that will give effectively 60% abs so then if abs is maxed at 50% then he had 50%

Absorb is capped?! How do items of Absorption work?
After Straight Magical Damage Reduce and Resistances modified the damage done Absorb first heals a player/hireling, then reduces the damage done. Since it heals first, the double reduction rule only counts when a player or hireling is not at full life. A drawback is that if one would end up with a negative amount of life after resistances, you will die before Absorb reduces the damage done.
Absorb is perfect for swarms of Imps or Fallen Shaman, but be careful with Fire Enchanted bosses which may deal enough damage to kill you outright. Below are a few numeric examples where 1000 fire damage is taken. Note that the amount of damage reduced is twice the Absorb% times the damage because half is to nullify the damage taken, and the other half is the healing absorption provides. Note: there is a 40% cap on absorption.

Wow :O Well, i was already thinking that this would be how it is, since 50% absorb would make the dmg done to zero, because it reduces AND heals, as said there.
I never heard of this either.

well in reality u have to think they would have to cap it some how. cuz when u think about if u have 95 res and like 60% absorb u would be imuned to dmg which would suck and even with 40% abs and 95 res any dmg hitting u would have to be extremely high to even effect u
