Question about item level.

I was wondering, how can I see what item level a item has? And do all items get the max ilvl? For example if I find a item in a lvl 85 area, it always has a ilvl of 85.

Without a third party program, you can't. You have to rely on sites that tell you area levels. And yes, they will get the ilvl as determined by the monsters in the area. Meaning if you kill a monster in a level 85 area, the items it drops will be ilvl 85. However, if I remember correctly, Minions and Champions and Uniques will have heightened ilvls.
