Missile Weopon???

im currently playing ladder and trying to make the Edge rune word for my merc and i have been told it only works in a missile weopon, what is a missile weopon??? and does edge runeword work???

Well, you asked what a missile weapon is. Simple question, simple answer :) BTW, act 1 mercs can't wear crossbows, just bows.

First, your merc must meet the requirements of the bow (and the runeword, of course). Among the eligible weapons, look for a good compromise between speed and damage. Use a weapon speed calulator (like this one (http://diablo2.ingame.de/tips/calcs/weaponspeed.php?lang=english)) to calculate average damage divided by frames per shot. You obviously use the one with the biggest value.

Keep in mind that level, str and dex improve when your merc levels up, but the Edge runeword is quite cheap, so you can make a new one later.
