500th post! But i need help

Hey guys, never actually posted in here because I have always considered myself to be solely PVM. But now i've managed to gather some fairly respectable light sorc gear and have been trying her out. And to be perfectly honest i am getting my *** handed to me, repeatedly :mad: .

Now i don't really mind as I built her as just a baal runner but the fact that all classes are killing me is starting to worry me. I mean, I'm struggling against smiters :(. So i guess I have a few questions.

Her build is as follows.

Base dex and energy. 90 strength, the rest in Vit. At the moment with BO she has around 2k life and 1000 mana.

Question 1. Should I rebuild her with ES? It seems this might be my only option, but i need to know how badly her Lightning damage will suffer with the loss of a synergy. Also can someone tell me the stat distribution of this? IE. 1 vit 4 energy? I've never built a ES sorc.

Her gear is as follows. Hoto, coh, spirit, maras, griffs, arachs, 2 x fast cast rings, treks, frosties, 3 light gcs, torch, anni.

She is dealing about 28k lightning at the moment, which i don't think is too bad but I worry that with ES she might only be dealing about 22k.

Question 2. How would you assign the hotkeys? At the moment i have R as teleport and E as lightning, meaning when i tele I have to swap to lightning spam it and then swap back to teleport. Would you assign it to the left hand attack and just shift-cast it?

Finally and most worringly is my ping. I know that this might just be a connection problem but the lowest i have ever gotten my ping is 250. Does anyone have any suggestions to lower this? Perhaps it could be my firewall?

I know thats alot of questions there but I would really like to rebuild her and maybe be able to kill someone :)

i'm dealing with the same problem but for pvp it is better that u use Es and especially on a light sorc u dont need 20 es just 5 or 1 should be enough 20 in telekenis is a must because + skills dont have any effect on Telekenis
if smiters catch you up it's normal that u die when u have 28k light dmg that's way too low there are sorces with 50 k i assume. But energy shield places himself before resistance so you could change the coh and the hoto for Echuta + Enigma or Echuta + Viper (fcr) and leave the fcr rings and get some better ones and buy more light gc's that would help alot i think

maybe it's the lag that kills you dunno if you have serious problems with that

yea it sucks to duel in 250 ping, even 200 ping seems very painful for me.... i usually have around 50 ping, that's not bad at all :rolleyes:

ES works really well. Lightning's max dmg is simply powerful and the sacrifice won't be too much. I would surely rebuild with ES.

What's the point of dealing 50k dmg when you get killed in one hit before you even got to attack them.

Yes. Pump a lot into energy because you won't be able to use those gg 20/1x life/mana sc's anytime soon, and max telekinesis. That is a must.

Make sure you have over 117% FCR.

Try to get yourself as much Lightning gc's, because with all sorcs 1 skiller gives significantly more damage than any other builds. Sacrifice her weapon, shield, armor, etc. etc. for Light gc's if you can find another cheaper suitable weapon, armor, shield, etc. etc.

You must also take into consideration of:

Lightning's minimum dmg (which WILL NOT kill in one hit)
Absorb
High stacking

I'm making my light sorc once I get griffon, 3/25 eschuta and godly charms.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think the obvious course of action is rebuild as ES. However I heard that you only had to put 17 skill points into telekenisis to get its max results. Is this true?

But to be perfectly honest i don't think i will be killing anyone, when their ping is 50 and mine is 250 I don't have much chance.

Don't build a Caster if your ping is that high. Smiters or a melee build would be a good chioce.

But if you want to, still. DOn't biuld an ES/Light Sorc. You need nine GCs or your Damage won't even hit 20k (unless you plan for a high Level). Also, nice GCs w/ Life are pretty much necessary for an ES build.

Thats a very good piece of advice actually. But to be perfectly honest i hate smiters with a passion and they seem to be the only viable PvP build. I won't be able to make a teleporting barb (obviously) so that means i might be pretty much screwed.

Maybe go for a foher? They seem to go alright, although i may be wrong.

hey i have a foh/ auradin and a BvA Barb.

From what i have experienced with a foh is that conviction can easily be negated. In pubs there can be quite a few ppl with absorb, i.e using a tg and a wisp or 2 on, which make dmg almost useless.

But if u take a foh route u will need a secondary atttack like smite, hammer or something. dont make a pure foh u will get owned.

A BvA barb or BvC barb are great choices becasue they can be very versatile and with the rite equip can take down any build out there. but these types of builds are very expensive but dont have many weakness and are very all round.

The bottom line is if u do elemental dmg u need to be able to do huge dmg so u can still counter ppl wth max res (not 75) but ppl with 90-95 res and absorb users that why you would need about 40k plus light dmg.

Thanks for the advice. It seems to me that fire/cold/light chars can easily be negated with the use of BM. Therefore i might go for a poison necro, mainly for the enjoyment factor.

I was thinking of going
20 dagger
20 poison explosion
20 nova
with maybe 20 in either bonewall or golem mastery.

I can't quite work out where the last hit is going to come from. Any suggestions?
