How exactly did Griswald get cursed? Everyone else in the town except Cain (for some odd reason--why?) was butchered, but Griswald was just cursed into an Unique Monster. I know it's because Blizzard decided to do it that way, but I was wondering if there was ever an official explanation.

If there wasn't, anyone got any ideas for explanations that would fit the Diablo/Diablo II storyline/legends/mythos?

One of the few bound after death to do the wishes of the 3 (maybe they wanted kewl itams?), given twisted strength by andarial. Blah blah. stuff like that.

I always wonder if they give Cain bathroom breaks.

The bottom of the cage probably wasn't solid. :o

So, why didn't they kill Cain when they had the chance? They must have realized he could be a threat, and even if they didn't, they killed all of the other people anyway, except Griswald.

Because Cain and Tyreal are in some kinda big twisted plot together with hell and that was one part of their master plan.
