hi all!

im working on my last year of high school and im at a point in my life where its b4 SAT and no parties going on....so d2 came into the picture. I used to have friends that played when we were younger and we were pretty well off, economically speaking. After looking at my accounts full rune mules all expired :( , i thought is it even worth it to make a comeback to this addiction?

Even if its for a year...i thought id give this game one last playing "session" and start college free of gaming lol...hell maybe if i get rich enough, i could use this game as a source of income like i know some people already do..

Anyways, i was skimmin through the forums and i was seeing all these "godly runewords x100.....40+ lifer skillers etc. I realized how long it might take just to get back into the richness of the game

I guess this post is to say "hi" to everyone here for the 1st time and ask how you got "rich" in d2...i know time is everything but i was hoping that i could get pointers on how to start with nothing and gather some goods before my times of playing video games comes to an end....thnx to any advice and have fun playing this game:P

***BTW: incase anyone is nice enought to share some advice ill give some info about how i plan to get back into this game:

more than likely i will be playing solo...so it seems a lvling service/mod service for runes/currency would be hard

i plan on playing only on weekends; so anything that requires excess amounts of playing might be out of the picture

i literally have nothing on my account atm lol

Hope this helps if someone wishes to replay//thnx again

Heres my advice.

You need at least 1 decent rune to get started. Play a char to hell forge, and hope you get a good drop then spend the rest of your time trading.

In my opnion, trading > mf in terms of accumulating wealth, all you need is patience. Idle in channels and keep an eye out on the join games list. The idea is to always trade for profit.

There are generally some situations you are looking for. Most D2 players have been in one of these situations before.

MF who are in a hurry to sell whatever they have just found, becuase they dont have the patience to wait and find a right buyer. They want to clear they inventory asap so they can go back to mfing again.

Someone who cant fight they excitement to make they uber runeword cept for that last el rune or whatever. They will usually trade for that rune for alot more.

Same as above but instead of missing rune, replace with item.

Your job is to be the middle man between these people

Welcome back.

I myself started again a month ago, after quitting from way back in 1.09. I don't know when you last quit, but here's the biggest tip I have.

DON'T PLAY NON-LADDER.

lol...hell maybe if i get rich enough, i could use this game as a source of income like i know some people already do..

Much more likely outcome: It will just be a source of lower grades.
