1) I am calling your bs.
2) It's fairly easy to check each others chars for obvious cheating prior to a duel over TCP/IP.
3) Why would you blabber on about how awesome you are on a d2 forum when you don't/won't even play the game? Armchair dueling a past-time of yours?
Unless you happen to have the chars you feel are so dominant on USWest, don't worry about having to log into battle.net, it won't be required.

Hm, I'll duel you if I must. I have just about the WORST windy in exsistence and I'll stick kick yo ***. I'll be able to play in about a week when I get a break from school and don't have a drn proxy blocking my internet. After hearing you talk on the other threads, I don't think you'll be much of a challenge.
I dont have diablo 2 here, nor have I played in a long time, and I've been working for the past while (Notice I stopped posting?) I said I'd ask my friend, and he can duel in my stead.

Before this gets completely out of hand, perhaps some things need clarification:
Chaozhc, what is happening is fairly common place on these forums and it actually does make sense. This is the usual course of things:
New Poster: "I have build A and it beats builds <insert dominant build here> easily"
Established Poster: "That's not possible for such and such reasons"
*New and old posters exchange theory ideas but neither side agrees or concedes*
Established Poster: "If you can't be convinced, prove it. Duel."
This is the usual course of things here and it happens often. In 99% of cases, the new poster dodges the duel for one reason or another (doesn't have or play D2 anymore, lag, bad comp, got hacked, etc) and in the 1% of cases when the actual duel takes place the established poster practically always comes out ontop. This may or may not explain why people are engaging you with hostility or pressing your for a duel as well as the very large amount of skepticism.

we are very judging against new comers that like to spam "THIS BUILD IS GODLY" but PROVE to us why it is and we will accept. remember when koda came in here spaming how ghosts are good caster killers? i denied it till he dueled and proved me wrong. BUT ive dueled far too many beast necros (including 2 today alone) with decked out gear and again.. dies to splash, hammers etc.
also did you read how he responded to the builds i listed?

1) I never said any build was unbeatable, I just said I had the most expensive, and best pure FoHer on HCEast in S2.
2) I never once said "godly"
3)I said blizzers wouldnt beat me because blizz hits in inaccurate waves, which is fine for scroll PKing, but in duels they get ripped apart by insta-killers, like a beast necro. I never said minion stack would stop blizz either..
4) I said Doom and decrep > Barbs.
5) I dont care how these forums work, im just here out of boredom on work nights when my own forums are slow.
6) I will either find somebody to duel you by Monday, or I will buy another copy of D2 for myself and duel you, but not on open as it takes exactly .5 seconds to import +7 all skill GCs. How can I trust you? How could you trust me?
7) If you want to prove something about pure dueling skill, I'll run an ironman with you on Classic anytime you like as I have those CDs here now.

It sure takes a while to ask a friend to do it, the friend you are talking about you must know in real life bcause you don't have d2 on your comp or w/e. If not in real life it takes 5 mins to send an email. If in real life 30 seconds to dial a phone.
I have not played D2 on BNet in a long time, I am asking around on my forums for anybody willing to duel in my place, as well as trying to get into contact with people from last ladder. Things take time.
I'm not going to say anything in regards to the dispute, as I am extremely biased towards one side/party, but...dude
Meeting their challenge on classic? Are you F-ing kidding? You've stripped most chars of their most important part: Enigma, not to mention other items. And charms. And uniques. And non-runeword runes.
About the cheating on Open. Just show each other your gear before...& make sure they don't go switch crap...

Now that that's fixed, I bet the next excuse is that Open lags...hahahaha

Mcm wouldn't cheat.. and if Phyrexial is making the characters you can be SURE he won't cheat when he makes them. I don't really have a part in this, but i would advise you to duel or run for it, because these guy's will attack every single post you make for the rest of your life if you back down.
Kire, with all due respect, I understand that they will attack my posts if I do not duel, and a few people on my forums have shown interest in dueling, but I can assure you, if I had the slightest urge to cheat, I could do so without being caught. No question. I generally do not underestimate my opponents, so I assume they can do the same, no matter who makes the characters.

I read it as an ironman in clasic also, so mabey you didn't comunicate it correctly. It happens sometimes where your brain doesn't transfer onto the computer, due to people's fingers crossing the wires. If you won't duel open or tc/ip and you don't play on the realms, it willl be hard to find someone with a beast nec on us west nl that can be ready to duel.
I believe my friend is willing to BvB on classic nl west, but I'm fairly sure he's on HC...
While we're at it, I'll fight you in Doom2 deathmatch....
lol I know, I know, not even close, but still, hes the only person I've talked to so far willing to duel on open for me, most people just refuse to go into an open duel without hacks, for fear of catching a 800k dmg WW barb who claims to be legit... I'm still looking though.. give meh time.

Members on the forum were simply amused by the prospect of dueling legitly on open, as it would be so easy to hack anything, but whatever. You say I'm a nobody, yet I showed you I am, then you say im chicken for not dueling, yet I dont have a copy of D2. Please, come up with some more original insults, you're running low and just sound repetitive. I will have somebody duel you soon, or I will duel you myself on Tuesday if I havent found somebody to take my place.

Not a lot of people are insulting you, it's your arrogant and egotistic attitude. Being a moderator doesn't instantly make you a 'godly' diablo ii player.
If you don't even have a copy of d2, I don't think you have the right to say your beast necro will beat all these chars without proof of any kind. You're just putting stats on paper and not actually dueling. Numbers don't mean anything if you don't have a char.
Your only excuse right now is that you don't have the game yet you're challenging everyone's opinion. I also find that 'low and reptitive'

Even if he did somehow get Diablo II, he would say he didn't have the perfect gear.

Please duel or stop making these characters that you BELIEVE is unbeatable but can't prove to everybody since they only exist in your head. If you win, I'll gladly test out a necro like that but since all you do is talk... :thumbsup:

ROMV, the thing is.. I always said no build is unbeatable.. everything is variable. I simply was giving suggestions on a FoH build, and subsequently was harassed by dkay because I said "I had the best FoHer on HCEast in S2." At the moment, its just a group of people who like following one person around harassing me because they believe they are right, and that D2 is 1 dimensional in PvP, and they chose a beast necro as their scapegoat of all the builds I had talked about to force me into a situation where chances are, I would lose. It doesnt matter, because Nec v Barb, I know I will win if no LifeTap or Juvs are used.

It might have qualified as a contest of words, provided anyone really bothered to write something worthy of being read, but this is a PC-game forum, and thus the number of well-writing people is limited to diddly and squat.
As for getting this thread closed and reporting to a moderator, I already did, several times, and I guess Xircon is busy elsewhere. The PvP forum isn't all that important anymore. Most of the posts here contain nothing but mindless psycho-babble, and you people hardly have any new thoughts at all. But that's more of a general observation, and not something specially aimed at you.

I suppose your overlooked the input that Phyrexial dropped in here, what dkay was saying would counter the build [everything], chaozhc countering dkays argument? Obviously there are flames in this thread, but there is also useful things being put into this thread. dkay listed what builds would beat the beast necro, and chaozhc listed [very vague reasons, but they're there nonetheless] why the necro beats those builds. Dkay and I then countered for two specific builds [the Ghost/WWsin/WWsinhybrid and BvC/BvA builds] with reasons why chaozhc's counter wouldn't work half a crap. mcm is just challenging him, I see no flames from him, Dennis is accepting the challenge, and chaozhc is looking for a friend to accept the challenge from mcm and if he can't find one, will get CDs and duel mcm himself.
As for 'tickling' you, I did that because at first I offered a valid observation as to why this thread is still useful, but then you decided to drop the oh-so mighty 'I've been here since xxxx' comment. Lame, and I called you on it.
Whatever. If a mod decides to close this thread rather than clean it up, it'll be on par with dii.nets modding standards. :rolleyes:

even if it did, is it wrong to mention builds that use foh but have a strong backup skill? if i saw a thread on how to make hammerdins, is it bad for me to mention subcatagories such as vanquishers and libbys? no.
again.. no pure mentioned in his thread title nor his post. also he gladly went with auradin, which is no where near a pure foh, obviously he wanted to use foh as a main attack but never minded to extra backup.

and i agree with Baranor to a certain degree, you can have a debate and argument and still keep things in a realtivily friendly atmosphere, after all this is the PvP part of the forum and everyone has different views etc.
But turning this into personal assaults and swearing and flamming is going to far.

ive seen many people say LOL IK BARB NOOB and i kicked their asses with my ik barb and they bring in their trapsin/sorc/foher and most of them die and get pissed
dont get me wrong, ik barbs are hard to duel with, and they die easily to godly characters
its just that i kill those "newbies", who take gold from others, even though they have good gear and laugh at ik set...
This argument was nothing more than a silly argument which I wasted the last 10 minutes of my life reading... but there was one thing that struck me as odd... Chaoz, you're a hardcore dueler. I also dueled on East, mostly low/mid last season, and I do recognize your name. Now, why would a hardcore dueler be making blanket statements on the effectiveness of a build and then follow it up with "as long as no juvs are used"
You know you hardcore duel, I know you hardcore duel, why make arguments contingent upon no juvs being used? You're a hardcore dueler... hardcore duels involve juvs.
Oh, I'm almost positive I've got your ear from some point last season, but as I am at college, and on a new computer, I cant verify it, since I dont have any of my characters anymore, and all screenshots are on my other computer. If I do have it however, I should have a screenshot on my desktop, which I'll have access to the weekend after Thanksgiving when I'm home. The character name would have almost definitely been something with Talarra in it... most of my duelers/pks had that in the name.

Nope, I didn't have such a fury druid. Out of the ones you list there, the only ones I killed last season high level was the summon druid... Come to think of it, I'm quite positive that wasn't you, this guy was a dirty chickener and lamer in most every way possible. Dueled some character of his with my hammerdin, beat him, but he thought his summoner (apparently this summoner was quite good) could kill me. Nope, not only could his summoner not kill me, his chicken couldnt save him. But, unless you go by a different name online, I'm quite sure that wasnt you.... Hmm.
I definitely did not kill any of the other characters listed.. I killed a mid/high level FoHer, some guy in his 60's with a telezerker, but again, I doubt that was you, he was decent, but not anything anyone would claim as "best FoHer on East"... Hmm, well, I'll see if I've got any ears with a similar sounding name when I'm home for Thanksgiving... If I can't find anything, it could very well be just that we crossed paths at various times, both being HC East players, and duelers.

Yeah, Brad's a loser. Tamer, Khell and brad were playing HU, and Khell was leveling myself and Tamer with his icebowa. Brad hostiles us, trying to kill me or somebody else, who knows. (We never got along, he used to have a sorc called Dues who I'd always make fun of). Khell says if Brad comes near us, he'll kill Brad's barb. Brad comes nerar us, Brad dies. Brad then leaves HU, steals all of Tamers BNet items (JMod, Near perf Eth DC, Phoenix shield 399%, etc). Why does he steal Tamers items and not Khells? Cause Brads a ****ing loser.
Anyways.. I'm leaving work at 6:30 EST, I'll be home soon, so shush Retro :P
Edit: I know of Kime (Helz) and Aaron, never got to know them though. Heard Kime killed Alex last ladder (MANIAC), that musta been sweet. Alex kept dodging my duels.

I love how certain ppl make a 1 hit wonder build and become a "well known dueler" ... mainly Guerilla.
I told Tamer from day one that Brad was no good. Brad was PA'ing Tamers guy through nm or hell or something, and I hostiled Brad's tals sorc and tried to pk him in Chaos, I was about to kill him when Tamer told him to quit....essentially Tamer saved Brads 90 sorc from my 55 pally. Anyways, Brad was always a mooch and he was banned from these forums within a week of joining, so he needs not to be discussed.
IIRC kime did kill that maniac guy. Kime died a fair amount, but the thing about Kime is he was willing to fight anyone anywhere anytime, a quality not very consistent throughout hardcore duelers.
Anyways, do you remember what level the fury druid was you dueled Chaoz? Security had a 49, I had a 60 and helz had his hld druid. My 60 was named Venificus something i cant remember. I killed him off to a barb and remade him a zealot.

.... I return to this forum, after a year of inactivity. The first thread I come across, is this one. I start reading at page 4, go all the way to here. I'm thoroughly disappointed at what this forum has become. More than that, I'm shocked that a person like chaozhc hasn't already been (at the very least) suspended for trolling, from this thread alone. And most of all, I'm mortified that this duel to shut everyone up hasn't happened yet, beyond the day that it was supposed to.
A community is what the people make it. I can only hope that everyone starts trying harder.

I haven't been on this site for a year. I don't know if someone shares my IP, or if there has been some change to the site over the course of the year that could have had an affect, but automatically assuming I'm a liar, and blaming me for this once glorious forum becoming a dump is NOT the right course of action - I promise you. Now if the mod was to only temp ban or ban chaoz and not do the same to MCM would this be fair? All because 1 person is more well know to others?
Anyways it sad to see when anyone get temp banned or banned but sadly, it was expected. This thread went to far out of hand and someone had to come in and stop it, (mod).

To answer MasterMinds comment, yes I will ban everyone and anyone who deserves it. I have banned people who I would call friends. I have banned GM's and once or twice my own guildmates. Break a forum rule, expect something to happen.

Using only inferences from the post I have read of his, he obviously does not know. Just because a person knows something does not mean they are given credit for it, they must prove to the world to be given credit. Such was the case between Newton and Leibniz. Quite a funny story actually...

So have these two guys duelled yet? Will they? If they won't, then why are you people still arguing? Alot of people are being banned because of this topic, why hasn't a mod closed this down yet?

It's always sad to see an great poster banned, especially when it's obvious it will happen. Didn't anybody PM MCM and tell him to just shut up, think of the consequences, beg for forgiveness, and cool off for a few days? :(
Well, if it's permanant, thanks for those barb dueling vids, MCM. I've never dueled anybody decent (mostly just the occasional PKer), and it was fun watching how a real duel works.

I don't see any post by "mcm" that broke a rule.
I do however see many by others that broke multiple rules and yet they are not even temp banned. Funny that.

Reading over the thread and reviewing the various posts, unless laying down a challenge is against the rules I don't see why mcm should be banned permanently. The only rule that he broke as far as I can tell is that this thread was aimed primarily at one member and thus should have been a PM, hardly grounds for a perma ban.

That is why I am the Mod and you are not. I posted a clear warning that I was going to crack down on things such as this a bit ago. I think it was even on the lines of no more warnings. Mcm has been here long enough to know the rules. I also specifically stated in this thread if there was someone else who I missed to PM me.
