Quick Gold find barb Q

I'm in the process of lvling up a WW goldfind barb, but there's a problem: I don't know what weapons I'm going to use to kill the council. Aside from the 6 lem x2 Crystal swords, I have no idea what other weapons work best. I've read the guides and stuff, but I still dunno. Any suggestions? Nothing too expensive, since I'm in the process of moving from L to NL.

Perhaps I'm the wrong guy to answer, but for my goldfinder I don't kill the council, I stand there holding my ali babas like a moron while my merc pounds the crap out of them, of course adding his goldfind to mine on the kill.

If you're not very rich, I'd recommend bonehew for a realtively cheap polearm, putting it on a might merc of course. Amn and Hel (if needed) or shaels for IAS... then make wealth armor and stick a crown of theives on the merc and he should have ample leech for NM council.

If you're planning on hell council runs, you may need to contribute with WW, but NM should be a good place to get started, decent gold piles and chance of skill charms there.

Alright, ended up using an Eth Edge. I can take on NM trav easily, but I think I'm under-equipped for Hell. Currently I'm using a CoT [unsocketed atm], Eth Edge [also unsocketed], 34% plain GF ammy, Manald till I get a Dwarf, wealth, infernostrides, chance guards, goldwrap, and my inven is full of gold find charms. Most are plain. I'm having a hell of a lot of trouble even hurting the council, let alone living through a swarm of them. My merc is having trouble too. Everytime I get near the Council my merc ends up in a pile of Hydras and dies immediately. Currently He's using an Obedience [swapping this out really soon, the cold damage is annoying as hell], Blackhorns [till I can have him equip the Kiras] and a Crow Caw? I think. Any suggestions?

I'm also lvl 83, while my merc is lvl 71.. I'm sure that's a problem. Any suggestions?

you use a might merc right?
for the mrec try and put a CoT on him with the most LL you can get. that 12%LL should help him out a ton so will the resist to fire. untill you can put a eth wealth plate on the merc try an eth upgraded goldskin (35%toall and 100%gf) that should also help some more. as for his weapon, try a few and see what works best.

for you i'd use the set gloves LoH when doing hell runs. you'll lose 200% gf but gain 350% dmg to demons. when you or your merc are stronger you may not need the gloves and can go back to chance guards.

Yeap, using a might merc. Currently he's wearing a Tal mask, Shaftstop, and the Obedience [-.-]. He has max resists. I'm wearing more or less the same thing [found better charms and a better ammy though], but we're still both getting wrecked. He gets caught in the middle of the hydras, and they don't hurt as much anymore, but then the council gets to him and even if I start warcrying, the ones that aren't able to be stunned start killing him. We both have around 3k life, I'm lvl 83 and he's lvl 80. =[ maaaaaaaaaaan, I can't figure out what's wrong..

an eth Obedience elite polearm on a might merc should give him a ton of dmg but the pole has no ias. you may want to try something faster for a few runs.

when you fight the hell high council dont fight all of them at once. use lev 1 taunt to pull a few of them to you then when they get in range of your warcry cast it to hold them. then cast battlecry once then go back to warcry to hold them. you could also do a ww or 2 to take down more of their life so the merc has less work to do.

try and lev you and your merc somemore and as long as the merc has Obedience make sure they cast enchant and have their aura on before you fight the council members.

I use a singer barb and it works out well. They all die relatively quickly and I'm easily hitting 4k gf.

4kgf? the max goldfind you can get in LOD NL is 3990% and thats with using old D2classic items and a barb/act3 merc. with your items you would be lucky to hit 3000%gf. after years and years of building up gf sets my best is just over 3600% and thats when using an act2 merc.
