I am building a Frenzy barb (lvl 78 so far) and wondering if it is worth to put more the 1 point into bersek, since it adds a magic bonus to frenzy.

I think the + skills on endgame items should be enough of a synergy. One point Berserk is enough for any build, except Berserk-based of course.

The +skills count to synergy?

Heh, just caught my mistake. Posting advice while half-asleep isn't the best idea I suppose :( I'm awake now...Anyway, once you have placed all your pre-req's and maxed the big 4, I suppose putting points into Berserk is fine. However, you might also take a look at Taunt (if you aren't maxing it already), as it also gives good added damage.

On my frenzy barb i ignored the middle combat tree entirely (except for bash prereq)
If i wanted a back up for physical immunes i switch to dual gimmershreds and my merc uses reaper's toll for the decrepify
If you really want a frenzy synergy then i believe the best choice is double swing. Against hordes of low HP monsters you don't want to use frenzy due to its crappy speed (relative to double swing), you want to charge a few seconds with frenzy, then double swing for a few seconds then alternate back to frenzy and so forth. By pumping the double swing synergy you will ensure that your double swing against monster hordes won't have a crappy AR :)

I also ignored everything but bash, I don't even think I had leap, I sort of went with a "if it ain't frenzy it's a wussy combat skill" mentality
no trouble charging up frenzy when all the enemies are stunned

So it seems it is not worth to put more points in bersek.
I've put 12 points in Double Swing, about 3 on Taunt (I don't use it a lot) and 3 on Shout. I decided to not max Shout (I can get it to lvl 12 switching weapons) to get higher damage Frenzy (from synergies).
Should I keep bumping DS or Taunt for extra damage or go with Shout? (my def is around 7k with my shout at the current lvl).

Pump DS not taunt
as i said situations often arise where it is quicker to kill with a frenzied (charged-up) double swing rather than frenzy itself, and in some situations you don't want your DS attack rating to be crap

Same, if i find i really need beserk for some reason maybe a passion runeword/storm on switch, one point in leap is the way to go as after +skills you end up being able to jump far enough to clear gaps (act3 rivers, river of flame, mephs bridge) and it makes one of the best escape skill by far due to the knockback.
