I just started doing this and I have a few questions please:

1) Is there any threads that explain this in detail? If so, can someone direct me?
2) I am assuming that lower kurast is the popular place to do this activity?
3) Here's the big question: What about lower kurast makes this so profitable? I'm assuming that it's simply the number of chests/logs/corpses that exist in such a small area (chests/square yard if you will). Is there anything else special about these chests?

So far I've not found anything great aside from a few nice charms, but I've noticed that it's certainly worth doing, and IIRC number of people in game effect drops as they do with mob drops-- as it's evident that when I do this in full games I rack up tons of stuff.

Notably I found it being great for charms/jewels/flawless gems.

Thanks guys,

.... Just read the first great great sticky thread about item generation.... Section 17 specifically addresses item drops from chests and the like....

Though not sure from a actual game code basis, I think Lower Kurast has been well known for chest hunting because it has quite a few "special chests" (see Section 17) which cannot give unique or set items but will give a hell lot of rare or magical items plus gold and miscellaneous items (including runes and gems), especially when it is a multiplayer game.

Hope you find that great thread helpful!

BTW, 600 posts now...

In my experience, Lower Kurast is not much different than Kurast Bazaar or Upper Kurast when it comes to the number of super chests or other containers.
