I've heard a lot of people aruond here suggest a Fury zerk for the OW and DS stats. Just wondering if Fury>Botd in melee duels (bvb, zeal pallys, fury druids etc.). My main question is if the major offset in dmg is worth the basically 100% to OW and near 50% chance of DS and 20% xtra AR (coupled with gear like Gores/Duress or Beast on switch for non BvB). Also I was wondering how a Fort ZERKER would do for melee duels. The dmg isn't bad, gives you tons more def (esp with chilling armor goes off, digusting amount of def), 20% DS, +lotsa life, and even dmg goes to mana. Also has the faster cast/resist all in case you take it in BvA situations. Thanks in advance for all inputs.

Fury is used when the opponent has a very very high def. You'll mainly depend on OW to dmg them as you'll rarely hit them.

I suppose you're talking about WW barbs here. Fury is not needed vs. Zeal or Fury as they're rarely hit you unless you do stupid ww. BvB will probably give you the biggest problem so Fury helps a lot.

Ok I guess I won't worry too much about getting a Fury right now since it'll only really be effective in BvB. Guess I'll just stick with my Botd/Beast combo for BvA. Any thoughts on Fort Zerker and its value as a Botd substitute?

It is an interesting idea to have a fortitude zerker as your secondary weapon but I think it is missing one of the most important requirements for a good whirlwind weapon: it doesn't have enough ias to hit the breakpoints. The other mods are certainly tasty (ridiculous amounts of defence!), but I think one of the primary requisites for a good pvp weapon is that it gets to the breakpoint of -34. But then again, I'm not a barb pro, just telling you what I hear!

Good luck!

ya the lack of ias is def the biggest draw back but i read somewhere that during the first two checks at the 4 and 8 frames all weps, regardless of on wep ias, will hit the last breakpoint. Figure with smart/short whirls the ias could be negated. Of course I'm no where near good enough to whirl like that so hats off to whoever can :)
