I saw a guy in the ladder duels games using an elementalist smiter. He had holy shock, so i assumed he used dual dreams, but he had str glitched so i'm not sure. Would a dual dream-din using conviction be able to take down any enemies in PvP? Using smite of course.

I'm pretty sure elemental damage doesn't carry over to smite.
Are you thinking of an auradin using smite?

Things that won’t work with smite:
Life or Mana leech
Deadly Strike
Elemental Damage
+Max/Min Damage

*Cries* i'm pretty sure he was not using fanat, i know he had holy shock aura. he was either using dual dreams or the aura himself.. i think he was using the aura to do AoE damage while running from the enemy, dodging, etc, because i got like 150~ pvp damage a stun when he was within range.

That's just an auradin using smite. So his main dmg comes from his aura while smite helps pick off melee that come too close.

He also probably has been using Charge instead of Smite and you mistaken him for it? Difference between auradins and dreamers are that while auradins desynch charge around, dreamers stall half a second before charging straight at you. Charge + Smite both looks similar in a hectic fast paced duel due to knockback / stun.
