the "z" at the. end of botdz stands for "zerk" or "zerker" as in a beserker axe.

All of your questions totally depend on what type of barb you're talking about, both build-wise (whirlwind, conc, berserk, singer, wolf, etc) and intent (PvM, BvB, BvC).

Depending on which one of those you want to do, the gear will shift greatly.

The gear mentioned earlier is more or less the best for most melee-centric barbs (besides wolf). However, in pvp, Grief is better than BotD, against casters you'll need a secondary weapon instead of a shield, and as a wolfbarb or singer, virtually the entire set-up changes. Also, steelrends are horrible gloves because of their massive requirements ;)

So, be more specific on build/intent and we can help out better.

Nothing beats ethereal BoTD great poleaxe for a combination of great damage and max whirlwind breakpoint in pvm :)
