Ok, so i read the thread on the axe frenzier who wants to kill ubers...

but my mate and i decided on an alternative build which we recon will work, i was just running it by u guys to see if its flawed...

ok, in terms of skills it was gonna be:

20 - frenzy
- double swing
- taunt
- BO
10 - shout
1 - beserk (for phys immunes)
- and all prequisites, and passive masteries

in terms of items... we were thinking:

2 perf ravenfrosts (for ar)
duress
arreats
bartucs
highlords
and DUEL FLESHRIPPERS (to lower defence, add cb, ds... etc)

the idea is to have plenty of health to go in there and kick theyre asses by tearing into them...

what u guys think? does it stand a chance?

The only synergy you should bother with on frenzy barbs is double swing because it actually makes a damn good attack when frenzy is charged up

bartucs? you thinking of assasins?

dracul's are a must for life tap

verdungo's or tgods

unless your friend is a salvation smiter, make sure your light/fire res are stacked 300%+

if you decide to use the dual fleshrippers then take the points from mastery and max out both double swing and shout

yeh that was the plan... max out synergies, and use DRACUls...my bad, had assassin in mind

the theory is it should be able to manage alone... :s

knock down theyre health quickly

so then does the AR boost from DS stack onto the AR boost from frenzy for uber AR?

ive always wondered about that, havent tried it though, dont know why.

1 berserk

double swing uses it's own AR, not frenzy, even when frenzy is charged up

in the same idea, frenzy uses it's own AR when attacking with it

why would you use double swing when you have frenzy charged up? if I had my choice between 2 skills that are the same speed but with one doing a whole hell of alot more damage, I'd have no use for the other

Even the fastest frenzy seems to be fairly slow compared to the equivalent double swing when frenzy is fully charged up :)

A frenzied double swing is nice for hordes of low HP enemies like fallen/flayers/maggots/grotesques/etc.

i was gonna max out taunt as its a synergy for frenzy... and without a mastery, i could use the extra damage ;)

u recon the build would work then?

and i'd max double swing mainly for the synergy, although it does have no mana cost by lvl 10, so for mana burners ^^

last I checked, both double swing and frenzy were capped at 5 frames

Dude, if you don't have 24728472894724 res all, don't bother.

Also, any source of crushing blow/open wounds/crit strike is required or don't bother--I don't think you get enough from the gear I see here... prolly wanna include Goreriders on that list.

on second thought, missed the fleshrippers... might still wanna use goreriders. :lol:

yeh i was gonna drop 1 point in teh passive skills, maybe more in resistances...

and the fleshrippers have really nice uber bonuses ^^ that was the point of them (get it? point? hehehe)

boots wise, i didnt mention any... so yeh i could include gore riders

other than that, build sound ok??

Yea, build sounds ok.... stock up resist charms and use CB gear.

BTW, I'm making a Frenzy Singing Variation and plan to gear him up for Uber...

I hope it will work.

Even the fastest frenzy seems to be fairly slow compared to the equivalent double swing when frenzy is fully charged up :)

A frenzied double swing is nice for hordes of low HP enemies like fallen/flayers/maggots/grotesques/etc.

-frenzy and DS are both capped at 5 frames.

most people have frenzy max speeds of around 5.5 frames, which is only a little bit slower than DS but has much higher chance to hit and damage. it is worth noting that frenzy has to charge up, and for most people starts at around 7 frames, which is slow, and builds towards 6, 5.5, or 5 frames in most cases.

test: party up with a fanat paladin, charge frenzy, use both frenzy and double swing. they cap at the same place, although its a lot easier to hit 5 frames with DS than frenzy.

-berserk is worth maxing as it allows you to kill physical immunes while using frenzy normally, or, much faster if you use berserk itself. berserk with charged frenzy is very very effective if you have a high damage weapon in your right hand. you have fast feet which keeps you from getting swarmed and a gauranteed 9 frame attack.

pretty much any monster in the game will die faster from a 9 frame berserk than from a 5 frame frenzy, assuming both are level 20. if you really want the extra damage on frenzy you should get a might merc since its bonus to damage is the same as 20 points in double swing (about +200%). might would also affect berserk.

-fleshrippers are good weapons but dont work with any masteries, so their raw damage will be lower.

-if you plan on doing trist by yourself you will want a sanctuary aura either from lawbringer or azurewrath.

Alright, here's the deal: bypassing the word filter is against the rules, and I could easily use that as grounds to ban you, judge. On the other hand, there was no reason for you, Turk, to respond to his statements in such a rude fashion to begin with. You could've easily corrected his errors without calling him "stupid" or telling him to slap himself; doing so just provokes retaliation. I have just as much grounds on which I could take action against your account as well.

As such, I am simply going to delete your exchange of posts in this thread. Next time things will be more serious; there's no place in this forum for personal attacks, and blatant disregard for the rules will not be tolerated.

Double Swing gets a negative mana cost :lol:
When one of those damn specters or baal drained your mana I think double swing comes in VERY handy :D

For Axe Frenzy barb Beast and Death would be a great choice cuz with highlords and a ias jewel u will hit max ias breakpoint.

Skills:

20 Frenzy
20 Bo
20 Mastery
10 Taunt
10 DS
1 Iron Skin
1 Natural Res
One point in every Cry
I think the rest would go to Shout or whatever u like, res, more dmg, speed...

For Berzerk, use passion(+1 berzerk) and maybe Botd (or other hight dmg weapon will work) on switch.

Kinda expensive but it could be alot worse with other build... Last Wish is always a good choice :D.

Lots and lots of Ar/res charms... do not get warcry charms just better with AR.

I have 3.7k life, 7k def and 10k Ar with this build.

youre not listening.

mods from different weapons dont stack. 150 AR in left weapon and 150 AR in right weapon does not equal 300 AR. it equals 150 for each. AR that is from non-weapon equipment, such as angelics, applies to both weapons.

I have been thinking about a dual wielding barb for a while now (even starting him), and my thoughts on end weapons was 2 death runewords in phase blades. Or one death and something else, like Azurewrath.
I think someone already mentioned that Fleshripper is a dagger and as such, can't use masteries, whereas the two above are swords.
