PVP BVC weapon switch "Duel Dooms"

[Gotcha]

I have chosen to use the duel dooms on switch for BO and also for windy's and the leaping with aura and sorta have a simple question.

I was going to dump all points into vita and noticed without my beast when I switch to duel dooms I do not have enough strength to use my COA while wielding the dooms. The additional strength I would need to invest is 19 (19 less into vita) yet I do not think I will be getting hit with dooms out but would it be smarter just to invest the 19 into strength just for the sake of possibly getting hit with them out since I also not only loose the PDR but the 29 Res on my COA?

Any Thoughts, trying to make this BVC as close to perf with the investment stat points.

add the missing 19 stats, and have fun "slowing the crap" out of smiters, while having your CoA on.

Doom is nice for zons/wind druids/smiters/zealots/fury droods/ppl w/ one life.

My baba can wear 2xDoom on switch and still have base str/dex. You should list your equip. Got a torch or anni?

Current Gear (missing 23 Str) at lvl 88 right now (enigma will make slight diff).

COA = 174 str.

Highlords = 0
Enigma = currently +66
Dracs = +15
2 Ravens = 0 (Lol)
Arach = 0
Rare Boots with 30% FRW, 10% FHR & Mana & Resists. I am on Ladder
Anni = +20
Torch = +20

With base Strength at 30 and these items I have 151 str with 2 dooms out, so my COA goes red. I will lvl chr probably around 92 or 93 which will give a few more like +69 to str so I will need like 20 or 19 if I lvl a tad higher.

Thats my gear, what am I generally missing that you are getting base strength to wear COA with dooms out or is this non ladder for you with like your boots being Grim Spurs (+19 str) or something?

either he's using gspurs or he has some sort of a barb ammy that grants a nice +str mod. Since you are a bvc have you considered getting hold of a 18+ str fcr ring to replace on of your ravens with? that would solve your problem probably and save you a lot of pts into str.

I was not trying to get the strength from rings yet that was an option I did think about but was trying to base the build and strength on all but rings leaving these slots as optional and not dependent on gear to equip. I will have to think about this a little more.

I've never used 2x Doom w/ CoA to duel. I just flash it and switch back to main weapons or..

If you're dueling windy, flash Doom out for a few seconds till oak dies, switch back to main weapons

If you're dueling zons, flash doom and leap or if you wanna win quickly, Doom + Grief/Ebotdz

If you're dueling Smiter, Doom + Ebotdz

I've never had to use 2x Doom with my CoA to actually WW anything so it won't concern me one bit if my CoA turns red.

Also if you die while flashing :eek: just get body switch to main weapons and pick up CoA.

You'll suffer AR problems if you use the FCR rings.

dont reccomend ebotd to ppl retro, it sux.

1 raven will give u enough ar given u have good charms, to hit almost anyone u need ar to hit with = smiters.

its ok if u miss alot, they will rarely hit u.

Just get str charms... you should have the space and you don't need to sacrifice equipment or life. Unless of course your inv is full or you want to not have charms as your crutch. You could also switch out your boots.

so some ppl are stuck with ebotdz. i find 20%fcr from arach is sufficient with leap to catch casters.

The problem with the boots are that I want to be variable here depending on the situation I.E. hotspurs, gores, etc. so I do not want this spot taken.

AS for the BOTD I would not even consider it over the Grief and if I put doom in place of beast hehe I am back to the same strength problem issue since my beast is sorta the strength crutch. I am starting to lean toward just adding 20 to str to make base 50 and all the rest into vita that way I can switch any item I want (boots, rings, etc.). I am on ladder anyway, it will take a year to get ok grand/small/large charms with life/Ar anyway hehe.

you need some damaging wepon m8.
I can kill smiters with dual dooms out, but they aren't the best ones I suppose.
You can kill a smiter quite easy even without doom, so stick with Grief&Beast combo.

Hehe rub it in, I am now looking for misc. godly strength charms and sorta was thinking the same thing as you mentioned here since on ladder the charms needed will take forever to get and of coarse my 3/20/20's are on the NL side. At least it keeps my mfers busy playing trying to find good items for the trading community so I can work on this chr.

Ofcourse it will, since the smiter will have a hard time hitting you and they will be slowed down a few frames. Though you'll need a lot of AR to make the duel quick so life tap doesn't trigger.

Best would be Grief/Doom compared to Beast/Doom. Though I don't find Doom necessary.

Only chars you'll use Doom against will be either

zon
smiter
zealot
fury druid

These chars can easily be beaten without full DR unless you accidently get hit due to bad WW. Ber'ing the Arreat could be an option as well. So you'll have 31%DR total with arreat.

For getting more pdr you could make a treachery. Go out and set yourself on fire in cold plains a couple of secs and then you got 15pdr more and if I remember correctly like 60+ more all res.

I have made my barb from a different point of view, since I knew he would need BerBerCoA vs smiters, bows and windies. I also gave him enough str to use his weapons without items, though including torch, anni and +15 str from dracs. So i can freely switch between forti AP or enig AP, and use my gear. The problem was when I wanted to use doom instead of beast :mad: I couldnt use my beloved CoA, but my echoing switch could :rolleyes:
