Hello,
I could use some advice on how to progress with my Javazon. I don't have that much experience with them, so i could use some help. Currently i have maxed Lightening Fury, with my plus skills is adds up to a level 32. I've got my pierce at 87% and i find that sufficient at the moment. Valkyrie is at level 17 (i believe that is when she gets her rares). I find the amazon quite durable at the moment, eventhough my resists are around 0-10 ( still have to do 3 anya quests ), since i hardly ever die.
I use my amazon for MF and it's working quite nicely. However bosses take a long time. Pits and the likes are ok, if i don't encounter too many lightening imunes.
As i see if i have two options. Invest in Plague/Poison, so i can get rid of the lightening imunes. Or invest in Charged Strike to help dispatch the bosses quicker. However, i have no experience with either (except for the single point in plague, which does help to stop regen).
Could someone explain how charged strike works? I read it's a melee attack, so would i need a good AR with it?
If i can invest say 30 skills points, would either be viable, and which would be better?
Thanks in advance.

I've been hearing that Charged Strike works fantastic with bosses. Particular those big meaty ones like Mephisto and Baal. It's basically like this, when you poke your spear at the boss, loads of Charged Bolts will appear. We're talking like 7-8 per hit if max'ed nicely. And if the boss is big and meaty like the ones I mentioned, the Lightning Damage added to the physical damage is a lot.
I don't know if you actually need to hit the boss to activate the sparks though. But probably so. So you might need AR. I'm primarily a Bowazon though, and will be using Javelins and Charged Strike only on switch so I never bothered with AR as I have enough.

Hello, I have a lightning javazon myself. It surprised me that you didnt use CS~ No wonder you say Boss killing is slow! You see, CS is the fastest boss killing skill.
You dont need good AR for CS to work. With CS each attack has two components one is physical which requires good AR to hit, another one is the bolts which will set off and hit anyway everytime u attack with CS. If your target is big, which all act bosses are, then every bot from a CS attack will hit, making tremendous dmg.
I myself have never tried Plaque Java/Poison Java. But I doubt they are any better boss killing skill than LF at all. Anyway CS is a more economical investment of skill point regard boss killing IMHO. Of course, getting another attack to deal with LIs is another concern. So, if u really only concern ab boss killing, go CS.

I second that. CS is the best boss killer for a javazon. No question about it.

Thank you for the quick replies. Just few more questions.
windwingwind, you mention that CS activates when you poke your spear at the enemy. Does it only work with spears?
And just to be sure i understand it correctly. When i attack with CS and i miss, the lightening bolts still fire, correct?
Thanx for the help. I think i can get about 20 in charged strike and i think 15 in lightening strike. That should be enough shouldn't it?

You are Welcome
CS works with spears and javalins.
Yes, the charged bolts will always fire everytime :) .
Regarding no. of skill points I think that's enough though myself go maxed CS-LS-LF  .
LF is for Hell Cows. Destroys them completely. You might find some nice socketables and charms, and alot of people have found high runes there!

And you get the extra little bonus of it almost being impossible to accidently kill the King with a javazon :D .

At the moment i'm level 75, with 33 skill points unused (still have 2 from hell izual to go). Thus eventually i think i can max it. I've just always been ranged, so i might need to up some of my passive's to be able to stand toe to toe (avoid, evade and dodge all have 1 point).
One thing i have noticed when i killed Diablo. You have these 3 type of monsters in his lair, the fast moving demon type (easy), the oblivion knight types (also easy), the third one (upper left corner, don't remember their name) they were lightening imune. Is that always the case? Or are the imunities random and can any of the three packs spawn with lightening imune? They didn't gave me any trouble, since they hardly do any damage. I was just amazed in how quickly i got to diablo (and he dropped me a nice gheeds fortune, never even seen one before).
The fact that i read in another thread, i believe it was an answer by windwingwind. It was that the cow king was always lightening imune, one of the reasons i made this javazon. Being unable to kill him is a big bonus, although i must admin i almost died making sure he was lightening imune the first time in went in there.
Thanks
