question on zon only weapons

is it true amazon only weapons have a WAY HIGHER str and dex bonus than normal bows/javs/spears?

lets say, no one would ever use a war pike or hydra bow when you got a mat pike and a GM bow...is that so? (ignore uniques, lets talk bout items for rune words)

well GMB only needs 105 str if i remember correctly and hydra bows need 135 so no i don't think amazon only weapons have higher str requirements. as for people using them for runewords, it's a much, much better idea using amazon only weapons for runewords because bows can come with +1-3 bow skills and such and if you definitely know that runeword is going to go on an amazon character it's always good having a few extra + skills coming from somewhere.

No, the str/dex bonus is exactly the same total. The difference is how it's divided. All amazon-only weapons get at least some benefit from dex (75% str, 25% dex). Since most players use low strength and high dex to improve attack rating, the amazon-only version will have higher damage than the standard version.

If Tommi Gustafsson's page (not sure whether I can put the link here pm me if u can't find) is correct, the damage bonus of amazon specific spear and javalin is 0.8 str + 0.5 dex. Non-zon specific spears/javalins all use 1 str. So indeed zon-specific weapon has better dmg bonus.

edit: oh i didnt see u ask ab bow as well. No, seems all bow use 1 dex for multiplier.
