Azurewrath question

I am leveling up a zealadin and was wondering if the new auzurewrath would make a good/decent endgame weapon for pvm. I already have one but if its worthless I will need to add a lot more strength to use something else. Using a lightsaber now till 85.

an azurewrath aint bad but the lvl req is terrible to use it. things like stormlash, oath are much better imo and shouldn't be too hard to find considering oath only needs a mal which can be gotten from the hf quest. stormlash will be a bit more expensive i believe. otherwise try for asterons.

For me Azurewrath is a great choice for endgame. It is fast it is pretty and you won't bother with physical immunes,nothing is immune against physical cold and magic altogether. It lacks crushing blow and deadly strike but a guil face helm and gore boots can fix that.Other affordable choices are oath runeword and stormlash scourge.

For me style is worth more than effectiveness, If I can kill things with the azure. Ill be happy. Just dint want to invest the time to get to 85 if it wouldn't work out.

Asteron is harder to get than Azurewrath/Mal/Stormlash. Do monsters drop a lot of asterons when you pvm? :uhhuh:

yes, but monster has resistance so those cold dmg isnt going to worth any in hell, probably the magic dmg may help...

azurwrath is still better than lightsabre overall cuz of +1 skill, but lightsabre has ITG, faster speed, and light absorb.

I had a zeal paly with his skills messed up, somewhat decent equip (not godly but not horrible) and an azurewrath and he RAPED every monster he came across. I could even do forge rushes with him. There wasn't a single monster he couldn't demolish. This was in 1.10 and I think he used CoH, Azurewrath, souldrain, raven, natures peace... and others... No CTA either.

In other words, azurewrath kicks ***!!!!! :clap: It is by far my FAVORITE weapon in the entire game.

EDIT: I only found lightsaber useful when I was PvP'ing vs a light dam user. Other then that, it just plain sucked when compared to my azurewrath. I could kill thing 2x faster with azure... I also died alot when I used lightsaber.

You sure Azurewrath works on Oblivion Knights after they cast Iron Maiden?

2/2 Heaven's Light is cheap. Just make sure it only adds two skills instead of three otherwise the price goes up.

Of course azurewrath still has physical damage so iron maiden on your head will still kill you instantly when you hit something

Heaven's Light is probably a better choice for you (especially if going with a CB oriented build), but azure is a very good weapon. The sanctuary aura shouldn't be underestimated in usefulness. Also, Azure does much more damage than a Lightsabre by far, despite what some may say. I actually used an azure/ebotd setup on a frenzy barb last ladder that was extremely effective. Obviously, I could afford better weapons but it is a really nice sword, the knockback to undead is very nice, the damage is reasonable, and you'll probably barely notice when fighting PY immunes (not to mention style points :thumbsup: ). Basically it all depends on your build. Good luck.

About lightsabre it is just the poor relative to azurewrath,it may be itd but it is just not damaging enough for endgame...Crescent moon is better than lightsabre in my opinion. And both azure and lightsabre require no further ias to reach max zeal speed if you have fanaticism maxed.

Heaven's light is nice option but it requires about 40% extra ias and it won't be of much help against PIs. Another good one is Razor's edge tomahawk...But still I would go for azure...

What does? ;) I acually didn't havge much of a problem. I just kept going through. If I died I just got my corpse n started owning again :D . They usually override IM before I hit them with zeal.... Funny how they IM sorc's.....
