duress armour?

ive now got my frenzy barbarian to level 50, just starting NM though i need to find a 3 socket armour for duress as well as a 4 socket or no socketed ethereal scourge befor i take him any further, justa few questions:

1.what armour for duress (whats this defence bug thing)
2.tgods or vurdungos (a little bit of dmg reduce and hit recovery vs immunity to lightning)
3.what mercanary, im currently using an AR mercanary as with my charms hes now gone up to 8k ar and ive only got 6 points in mace mastery :thumbsup: , and i figured that theres no point in a damage one as the majority of my damage will be open wounds/ crushing blow in p8 hell, so its AR vs Holy freeze.

Gear is as follows:
arreats (15ias)
runes for: duress + oath
stonecrusher (sheal)
gore rider
draculs
vurdungos/tgods
raven frost (20/237 :lol: )
mana leech/110ar//all res rare ring
depending on whether or not i can trade for it metalgrid or if not highlords

1.what armour for duress (whats this defence bug thing)
I prefer, as many do, Archon plate, because it has respectable defense and it is a light armor. The defense bug is only for ethereals, where if you socket the armor with the cube (and get the right sockets), the enhanced defense from the ethereal property is doubled. That said, you can get Stone Sacred Armors with 5.6k defense (if not slightly higher). The bug only works on non-superior items though.

A question of personal style. Take your pick. Both give up to 40 stat points, and have similar str requirements. I take T-God's, unless I'm PvP'ing and need to DR.

Might merc. Damage is king. Period. Get AR from Steel GC's.

Shield? Also, what skill are you using? Otherwise looks fine. And I'd throw that Oath in an Eth Legendary Mallet. Scourges have a horrible damage range.

I would chose Archon plate, big defense on a good looking light armor

Myself I would replace Dracul's with nice IAS/dual leech blood crafted gloves and use String of Ears. Imho life tap is overkill, I much rather take the Decrepify from Reaper's to break PI and to lower the physical resist of other monsters, which means more damage and more leech at the same time. With this setup you can throw away the mana leech ring and use something else.

From the 2 options you mentioned I would pick Verdungo's

For physical damage builds, Highlord's is the best amulet. Massive DS is way too sweet. I have used Metalgrid and propably never will, I think it is a useless amulet most of the time

If i use a eth legendary mallet (which i have one of) i have to replace stone crusher with horizons, which means i loose alot of crushing blow and all in all damage from having to use a horizons tornado insead of stone crusher which has lower average damage + if i use eth scourge/stone crusher i have the option of: shoild i find a stormlash replace it with stone crusher/ should i find a scheaffers :clap: i can replace it with stone crusher. You say damage is king but with more ar i will be hitting more = more crushing blow/ open wounds= all in all more damage especially vs act bosses.

Stonecrusher is slow. Damage is king, but speed kills. Also, OW only works to prevent monster from healing in hell. In reality, it is not that great outside of normal and PvP (where it is teh uber haxxor mod)

If you really want CB, you'll craft some 20% IAS/10% cb Hit Power gloves. With the duress and gores, that's 30%. Add Highlords, and you'll looking at 45% DS, along with whatever you get from mastery. That'll be fine.

ive already crafted some 20%ias, 9% crush blow 2%ll gloves though i thought draculs may be more useful, though i never knew open wounds did nothing in hell, i would use highlords though getting res is harder without a shield + the def and ar is sweet. oooohhhh decisions!

edit -ive had a look at some ias calculators and the oath eth legendary mallet looks good, but im going to have to sacrifice the crushing blow from stone crusher :( but i get a bit of slow target from horazons though you say the damage range on a scourge is horrible- horizons my only other option so i think im better of waiting for that eth scourge to pop up as over all damage and crushing blow simply isnt worth sacrificing for a tiny bit of speed.
