Has anyone figured out how to get the valk cast from peace to stick around for any length of time? If the valk had died from damage I would have put points in decoy to up it's hp, but it just seems to disappear all on it's own. I've heard a single point in valk helps, is this true?

I had the same problem, but just one point in Valk fixed it.

I am not sure to understand correctly...So I will ask again...If I have Piece armour and dont have no points in Valk at all, but I have points in Deccoy, Penetrate, Crit Strike and D/A/E, will the casted Valkyrie Lvl 15 have use of synergies at all or not ?

It'll get synergies, but don't expect her to live long with no points into Valk.

from my tests, one point in valk seems to be enough to keep her hanging around and poking baddies for you.
Res'ing an old post becaues I've been running into weird results with Peace myself. While some suggest hard points as a way to maintain the valk, I've found this not to matter. I have noticed that using tp's will wipe it out, but other than that I'm still at a loss. Here are my limited observations:
Bowazon with no hard points- Valk usually maintained for its life, occasionally went away usually from running.
Barb- Auto death of valk. As soon as it was summoned it would go through the death animation.
Pali- Valk is perfectly fine unless I go to town.
All of these characters used an Act two merc, but the barbs was the only that did not grant a party aura (mention this because some theories say pali aura/barb warcry hitting valk will make it go away).
So has anyone really figured out what keeps a Peace valk around?

This question has been buggin me, too.
I have no problem with the Peace armor on the Amazons. Valk lasts forever.
Put it on a Paladin or other type of character, though, and I get maybe 30 seconds and poof.
What's up w/that?:scratch:
Also- is this glitch happening with other 1.11 runeword armor bonuses (like Treachery's Venom when equipped on a Druid?)

Man this is wierd. I wanted to see if the weapon made a difference because I'm using a bow on the pali and had a sword on the barb. It turns on that on the pali, she disappears everytime Holy Shield expires. So her duration is reduced in melee since I was running HS, and with the bow she lasted full duration as long as I don't use a TP. Also, if HS is cast after she is summoned, she won't vanish on casting, but will upon expiration.
Still not sure why she never stayed around on the barb.
Maybe there are certain skills that use an identical, check or trigger as the CtC spawned minions and they are incompatible? Have to try out a barb with no warcries running that might be why they don't stick around at all on a barb. I'll also play around with various pali auras that I have available.
EDIT: Forgot to mention (though a bit obvious) this means that if you want to keep her around on a pali, just don't let HS expire and you'll be fine.
Certain curses cast on the Valk will make it die upon expiration.
Amp Damage does cause a loss.
Lower Resist does not cause a loss.
Not sure about others.

very strange stuff, like my sorc would cast the valkryte... id hand my bow to my friends druid, and we would go kill stuff... and maby 5 min later he leaves, with the bow, and the valkryte poofs, what up with THAT! lol
As has been mentioned, Valks created by a character with no hard points in the skill will poof pretty frequently- especially when acted upon (affected by an aura, going through a portal, etc).
Putting a single point in Valk is enough to get her to stick around full-time. Another method you can use, if you're not an Amazon, is to equip Harmony. Harmony grants Valkyrie as an oskill, but that's enough. If you have harmony equipped, and you trigger a Peacevalk, that valk will not poof for so long as Harmony is equipped. It turns out "Peace" and "Harmony" make for a pretty good combination, after all. :grin:
anyone knows how frequently. When I had one on my lighting fury-cow milker, it was realy anoying not knowing when I could count on her and when not. I thought it had something to do with when the monster on whiche she was triggered, died.
P.S. Don't ever do this, a lvl 15 valk can one hit kill the king in normal, not fun, believe me.

Yes, I usually put a point or two- if I'm gonna use Peace.
I guess that's why the peace Valk hangs around. But other than Harmony, is there a way to get the Valk to stay around with another character class (without the benefit of hard points in Valk)?
Again- does this glitch happen with the other runewords when equiped on a character class that they weren't meant for- for instance the venom effect of Treachery when equiped on say a Paladin?

Peace likely behaves buggy because its a minion. I don't think effects like fade and venom are vanishing or you'd hear a lot of reports/complaints about it.
I'm gonna play around with Peace for a bit and add in whatever info I come up with about what causes the Valk to disappear. But as has been demonstrated and mentioned there are likely many ways that the Valks poof that seem to occur when the Valk or your character is effected by a skill/curse.
If anyone else wants to add in their findings that'd be great. I'll just get a table going:
Caster Cast Upon Skill
Monster Valk Amp Damage (end duration)
Any Class Self Town Portal (after going to town)

Who said that? It won't be a killer, it won't kill anything cause it won't say around. Though if you have a fast hitting char at range, it can provide an extra tank, or so I think. So I'm thinking at a strafe-azon, and non amazon, throw barb, assisin throwing those sharkin things.

If you won't be able to get Harmony, you won't be able to get Peace (Vanilla players)

I think it's character specific. My ranger pali hardly ever loses the Valk, and it's really sweet to have the extra tank. I'd recommend this armor for mid-game if you haven't got anything more useful. Critical strike is also cool. If you have a melee pali, it will also stick around as long as you don't let HS expire. Might be nice to have a distraction while you're zealing down a mob.
It looks likely that barb's warcries knock it out so pretty much any barb won't be able to use it. Not sure about pali auras or druid sages yet.

Have you tried weapon switch? Maybe it has to do with physically altering the avatar, like the charge bug?

Yeah I can switch back and forth between the bow and S/S on the pali and the Valk won't go away. But as soon as HS expires it goes. This is true even if I have weapon switched back to the bow after casting HS.
Also found a few more things that make the Valk disappear that aren't all that connected. In addition, it seems that it doesn't matter whether or not the Valk is effected (i.e. by curse) but only whether your character is effected.
Here's the updated table:

New additions are, Resist Lightning Shrine, Life Tap curse, and Poison damage.
Things I tested that did not cause a loss of the Valk are:
Various pali auras,
Iron Maiden
Decrepify
Lower Resists (really curious that this doesn't kill Valk when Resist Lightning shrine does)
