well after watching many people play and reading it seam that the paladin is the best pvm class. i have been debaiting between a zealot or a hammerdin. i also what thinking about a barb. im loooking for something that can solo hell quickly. i have a summon necro down thats pretty cool but it takes forever to do anything in the game. what would you guys recommend? also im poor.
Play a Barb. *ducks, covers, and rolls-gets up and starts running with a little side-stepping here and there*
Or, if you want to go with more than 70% of B.net you could make a Hammerdin. Gets high damage easily. Cheap equipment to make him work.

Hammerdin. Even with cheap budget gear, you can get pretty decent damage. Also, no immunes (except for one in some corner of Act 3) to worry about.
I wouldn't make a hammerdin if I were you. It just isn't much fun as there is almost no challenge of effort involved. A zealot would be A) More fun, B) More flexible, and C) Wouldn't make you another one of the hundreds with coockie cutter hammerdins.

I read somewhere that Blessed Hammer pierces Magic Immunes because of how it works.
EDIT:
Ignores the resistances and immunities of Undead and Demons.

EDIT:
The immune I'm referring to is in Act 3 Hell. It's not a demon or undead, so it won't be damaged by your hammers.

There is such immune?? I've never seen one!! *cough* *cough*
Actually, it's called Wailing Beast, and it is in act 3 temples. You might meet them if you go for the stat points quest.

lol this is like the saying "it is so crowded no one goes there any more". every one says sooo much how hammerdins are what every one uses, then not many people use them, so in truth, there are not that much more than any other type (i'm talking about non ladder... but i would think that it is the same for ladder)
If you want something different, go for an Avenger. My experience so far with mine, MercenaryK, level 46, is rather difficult to start out. This guy hasn't been rushed as he's spent time in all acts somewhat.
The most important thing I find for an Avenger is a good shield with high defense, good defense armor, and a really bad *** weapon. The weapon has been my downfall for a long time, until I swiped a Spine Ripper.
I'm incredibly dirt poor, having to do Baal runs with a friend to abuse the Super Drop. Being poor also prevents from having those 'perfect' builds. Ya know, the right amount of stat points, dexterity points, blahblah.
I don't like Zealots or Hammerdins, they're not my type of Paladin. I always liked being able to kill with Vengeance+Conviction with only a few strikes.

The biggest problem for a zealot in pvm is Oblivion knights in act 4 & 5 (and possibly other acts) that cast the iron maiden curse. if you start a 5 swing zeal attack and get Im cursed halfway thru, you have no way of stopping it and the damage returned will drop your zealot ultra quick. Very annoying.
Elemental zealot's are a lot easier. Easy and cheap to set up. You can use any phase blade, even a plain phase blade. The cresent moon rune word is considered the best weapon for the holy shock zealot, or tesladin as they are often called. Best part of these zealots is that the physical damage is very low so it is pretty hard to get killed from iron maiden curse.
Thing with Elemental Zealots is that you need to balance them out with physical damage so you don't have to drink healing potions every second.
The ultimate PvM character is a Hammerdin, which can resort ot using a Level 1 Smite [with cb, ow, lt] to make short work of Solo-ing Uber Tristram. That technique will also work against the Wailing Beasts, then again a Level 1 Zeal + Grief would be a better option for that animal :p

see my necro right now is lvl 85, he is my only char. i really want a char that can run though right to the bosses. I don't mean tele either beacuse i made a blizz sorc and she always gets killed. im very poor also. my necro tried to run though the tower to get to the countess and she takes about 3 hits and shes dead. im debating a hammerdin, zealot, or some kinda barb.
