Level 9-12 Dueling Guides

I've searched the forums many times, looking back 10-15 pages and didn't find anything close to what i was looking for that was relevent. Sorry if this topic has been beat to death. By the way, i'm new to the PvP scene so go easy :)

I'm looking to create some cheap low level 9-12 duelers to jack around with in hardcore. I've been reading and i've chosen a pally for my first experiment. I'm thinking of rushing him to ancients in Norm and stopping there(obviously due to the level restriction on ancients) and grabbing all the stat quests, anya, all the skill quests, socket quest, and rummaging cow games until i find some gear i think is suitable. I wanna try to get the most effective PvP low level dueler using the cheapest run of the mill gear.

I was thinking for my paly, this skillwise...going for a charger for starters(lvl 12 dueler). I hear they can own easily...no clue about how this will turn out at such a low level though.

16 points total(i think...i may have added wrong and if so, someone correct me because it's early here ^^;)

Dump the rest into might as it's a synergy to charge

I figured this would be the best way to get the most effective damage with a pumped up might aura running along with charge(thats been pumped up by the might) and i should be able to deal out a decent bit of damage.

As far as equips were going, i've been hunting for some str charms with low lvl req to try and get myself some heavy duty armor on, perhaps a bigger shield. Also thinking that i could use some gems(forget which grade of gem is lvl 12 req) to boost up my str in armor and helms.

That should leave my str untouched from my pool of stat points and leaves the rest to dump into either dex or vit. Dex would give me that high block but Vit gives me the awesome health for such a low level. Undecided here, give opinions please.

I think that's all, sorry for the rambling but i've been thinking about this and plotting for a while now trying to figure out the best way to go about this.

By the way, the reason i chose LLD is because if(A major if ;)) he dies, i can easily remake him, grabbing the items along the way such as charms and whatnot and whatever i loot from other duelers i plaster.

From my experience Kyle, if you have a HC question, even though it relates to PVP, ask it in the HC forum. Alot of HC forum members are also into PVP and you'll get a quick "relative" answer.


Also, for a low lvl hc pvp build, relatively cheap, take a look at Baranors PK-Library. It's stickied in the hc forum and does a pretty good job of giving people cheap ideas to get some low lvl ears.


If not its pretty simple. +9 max jools = yes. +20% ed jewels in a 6 socket eth pike/great maul = yes. Everything else is personal preference, you've got yourself a char that can kill :)

Also, for a pally its better to use hard points into your str and use gems/charms to boost your life. You get more life that way, versus using hard points in vitality and gems/charms for str.

If you're making a low lvl barb, then you can use str charms and hard points in life.

Thanks for replying, and next time i will post in the HC section. To reserve myself from spamming, i won't create a new thread there but will just continue it here.

Tommorow i'll level him to 12 or so and hunt down some life charms, a nice high damage socketed pike/maul and ED the hell out of it, along with my other gear. I want to be able to pack a quick punch that will surprise the hell out of people even 10 levels higher than me. Just to get a feel for dueling anyways instead of lvling up a lvl 87 PvP build and dying on my first duel.

I read through that entire thread posted about PK'rs and builds and the tele-necro caught my eye. I may try that one out after the demise of my pally.
