May I know where is the best place to find a socketed tower shield for me to make a rhyme shield? I have no luck finding one so far. If possible, can a kind soul spare me one normal/socketed tower shield?

You should be able to shop for one. Also if you are going for socketed items, make sure to take off all MF gear. MF gear will turn your normal socketed item and turn it into magical. Just go around killing normal (ie not bosses) monsters with no mf on and you should be able to find one. Also if you buy or find a regular tower shield you could add sockets with the cube.
1 Tal Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + Normal Shield = Socketed Shield of same type
The number of sockets created will vary. The item must be normal and unsocketed. Low-quality items and superior items do not work. The item gets 1-4 sockets, randomly. However, the number of sockets is then restricted by the maximum number of sockets that base item with that ilvl can have. For example, if you have an item that can only have 2 sockets, there's a 3/4 chance of getting 2 sockets and a 1/4 chance of getting 1 socket.

I haven't tried to see what monster has to drop it to make it have 2 sockets, but I'm pretty sure shopping is your best bet.

So I presume that wearing mf gear will cause normal tower shields sold by npcs to become magical? No wonder all those tower shields that I saw were magical. Thanks for your help.

Nope sorry for the confusion. Just on drops. NPCs like to sell magical stuff more than I thought. I haven't played a lot lately.

Rhyme uses 2 runes. Tower shields typically come with 1 or 3 sockets. TO make rhyme look for Bone or Grim shields. They usually have 2 sockets.

I prefer bone or grim shields anyway. They look smart and they don't slow you down like a tower shield does.

hell baal runs, you'll eventually get one

6-8 players would maximize your chance of finding one
