Okay, here's my question - I have an enchantress who doesnt' really need Insight since she doesn't use mana and has max warmth anyway. I was thinking of getting an A2 merc and equipping him with Obediance runeword, which has -enemy fire resistance, and 30% chance to cast level 21 enchant on the merc.
My questions
1) how does my own sorc's enchant work on him? Will it override his enchant if it's a higher level and prevent his from overriding?
2)I also seem to remember reading something about how casting enchant on other people only gives them the fire damage of enchant itself, and not the added synergy damage... is this true?
3) Finally, the -enemy fire resistance on his weapon only applies when he is dealing fire damage, it doesn't lower an enemies fire resistance when I'm hitting him, correct?
Thanks in advance for the help guys :)

1. i cant remember just now if lower enchants will oveerride current ones.
2. when you cast enchant on yourself you get a double dose of fire mastery for melee attacks. fire mastery is applied to the casting. and then every time you swing fire mastery is applied again to fire damage on your attacks. other people dont get this double fire mastery. synergies will work fine no matter who you cast on.
3. -fire res only works for attacks your mercernary makes.
Just to try and ensure the first two are clear -
1) If your enchant is above level 21, the CTC on obedience won't override it. Enchant will only affect a character/merc/whatever so long as it is equal level or higher to the enchant currently on them.
2) Your mercenary will recieve the bonus fire damage listed on your enchant skill. You, when fighting in melee, will recieve that bonus enhanced a second time by your fire mastery. With a bow, you'll only get the damage listed on the skill.
Edit - fixed spelling

Nice, thanks for the info guys... this sound slike a sexy weapon to put on the merc, haha :)
I didn't realize that my damage is even HIGHER than listed when I'm doing melee damage too... that is just too cool, haha.
enchant will override.
No it won't, Raith. If you have a friend with an enchant sorc, get yourself an IK armor. Have them enchant you, and go stand in the middle of a bunch of things that are hitting you.
Assuming their enchant is higher than the one on the IK armor, the IK armor will never trigger.
