View Full Version : SS vs. Spirit

Alright, so I have a meteorber and I'm looking back @ the meteorber guide just for the hell of it. And they don't mention spirit at all. The mention SS and max block... Is that the right choice for a meteorber? Is there another choice that i should use besides spirit? I'm so lost lol. Any feedback will help, thanks.

Spirit with high vitality will help you against all types of damage

SS + max block will help you mostly against physical damage

your choice, also depends where you are running this sorc

I like andy, the pits, pindle, and im thinkin about including baal once i up my resists... so spirit and vit is ok for this?

if your sorc has dex for max block, go with SS, if not use Spirit.

For mf-ing purposes i prefer spirit, i mean just look at all those nice mods: 2 skills, loads of fcr, loads of fhr, loads of mana, loads of life, decent resis...

Spirit has more offensive power (+skills, mana, etc). SS, however, cannot be beat as far as defense goes. I used to make pure-vita sorcs but then too the plunge and made a max block sorc with Stormshield. I have never looked back. I die 90% less with block/SS than I did with Spirit/Vita. Everything is safer. My last four or five sorcs have all been SS/block. Try it once (if you haven't already)--I can assure you that you won't regret it.

I was thinking that b/c im set up for vit, not block... I would have remade the sorc... but I think im fine with spirit. ty for all the help

The guides were there before spirit was released. In that case, SS is probably the best choice since lidless isn't worth it in my opinion.

I use Spirit monarch on my Blizz sorc. I created vita based build and shes lvl 95 now and I don't have any trouble playing... most dangerous attacks are usually ranged attacks or monster death explosions.

About the only weakness of this sorc is teleing right into a strong monster pack which can be quite dangerous, but this is 100% avoidable if I tele along the walls.

If you don't have enough dex for max block, forget it.

You will never have "not enough", if you fully intend for max block. Just don't block with spirit. :lol:
