Summoner hat of choice?

I'm a lv 82 summoner and I've been using undead crown ever since I could equip it. I haven't looked around much, but is there anything better? Also I wanted to see what everyone else uses.

Looking at the items list the best helms available are the uniques that give +2 to all skills and the delirium runeword for its boost to skills and magic find (although the chance to cast curses are annoying for a necromancer, especially the fetish)

Obviously none of these helms come by easily so another mod to look out for regarding summoners is a decent resist from helms.

+2 skills helms to go for:
Nightwing's veil
Andariel's Visage (Needs a ral rune)
Harlequin Crest (just about every summoner wants this, although the look isnt great)
Delirium in 3-socket helm of choice

+1 skills helms to go for:
Wormskull (Undead crown better for skeleton Mastery)
Peasent Crown
Lore in 2-socket helm
Tarnhelm (Cheapo skills and lots of magic find)

I'm currently using Kira's Guardian on my summoner/poison hybrid since the +70 to all res if combined with a good necro head like the homunculus means I won't have to worry about resistance problems.

As a TO user, all my Skelemancers have used Trangs helmet, for obvious reasons...

For a uniques-based Skelemancer, Shako is probably the helmet of choice.

Resists shouldn't be a problem --- 30 from Anya, 59 from Homunculus, 10+ from anni, 20+ from Maras is a good starting point, and charms should be able to cover the rest.

Yes, Harlequin Crest is the unique Shako, and nobody likes to type harlequin. Q's are tough.

It is a very good hat for any spellcaster and is probably the best all around choice for a summoner. I have heard that people think it looks like "a gangrenous cow scrotum," but I prefer to think of my guy as wearing a condom on his head, which makes me smile.

Anything with plus to skills will help you. A good rare, plus 2 to all or plus 3 to summons is a good helm, especially if it comes with mods like mana, resists or life. To some degree, what makes a good helm is dependent on your other gear but plus to skills when you are summoning is always good.

Shako is one of the best helms in the game for a spellcaster although it looks like a cow scrotum on your head. It has great stats that a necro can make use of.

+2 To All Skills (better summons)
1-148 To Life (Based On Character Level) (More life never hurts)
1-148 To Mana (Based On Character Level) (More life never hurts)
Damage Reduced By 10% (decreased physical damage)
50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (More magic find never hurts)
+2 To All Attributes

Slap a socket in this thing and it can cover your other gears weaknesses.
