Attributes question

My blizzsorc is currently level 73 with 355 or so stats to spend on (yes, I saved all of them until now, since I'm not sure about my future gear yet). I am planning to go pure mf, but still can't decide whether to go max block or max life. Most people recommend max life, but the vitality:life ratio is pretty low on a sorc. Also, if I do choose to go max life, I will probably be planning to use Spirit, although what should my base strength be, considering the high strength requirement on Spirit?

EDIT: And should I keep my energy base or add a few points?

if your planning on spirit. please dont try get max block with that its not worth it. use stormshied for max block.

Max block is nice to have but i only get hit by elemental and those DAM dolls so not worth it i prefer to stand a chance against gloam. Vita all the way

Spirit is better for mfer because of the nice mana boost so go max vita and you will be teleing faster than the monsters attack in usual mf gear.

IMO, for pure mf I d say max block, you never know when you are going to tele right in the middle of a pack. However dont try to aim for max block with a Spirit shield, use a shield with better block rate, Rhyme on a heater is a good option. If you already have the Spirit shield then go vitality and str for the shield.
If you put an Insight on your merc you will not need to spend points into energy, else I d say put a few and get mana from your equip but that may limit your mf options on gear.

you'd need 156 str for stormshield (if you did decide to go Max Block) so 156 is almost a given :P

Seriously, Max block/Damage reduction > Max life Maybe not by much, but it is better and I'll explain why.

you can get 2 levels worth of life on a single small charm. you can not get ANY block or damage reduction from charms. So you use your stats on block/damage reduce and your inventory space on life/resis (if you need them)

If you find yourself having trouble with the caster classes while teleporting (Black Souls come to mind) try equiping items with that elements absorb. Wisp Projector Unique ring is the tops. This way you can build an all-around effective Blizz sorc without having to sacrifice much of anything.

Edit: btw, make sure your FCR is above 105% for safe teleing. You can use 'Spirit' to help you achieve that. you'll lose about 30% block but still, 45% block is still not that bad, also it won't matter as much with the fcr and fhr you get from spirit.

I choose to become a max life mf blizzard sorc because I don't think I can afford such expensive shields like stormshield. Maybe once I create my second pvp sorc, I'll max block with her.

Half attempted blocks gets you killed faster than vita builds. :( Also, spirit helps you to kill faster, and I prefer to kill a little faster than a litte extra safety. :lol:

Well I would choose Spirit with 20 TK and 1 ES (Lightning) or 20 TK 20 ES (Orb)

Base Dexterity
Base Vitality
Rest into Energy

Not sure about Blizzard, but I would probably still fit Energy Shield in there somewhere.

Only reason I would get max block is in pvp with a whitstans guard..

The str you need totally depends on your equipment, for example War Traveler boots give +10 to str, Shako gives +2 to all atributes so if you can or want to use those you could wait untill then to equip your Spirit and only spend 144 points in str, also add in some charms with str and the points go even lower.
