Occy vs. Eschutas

Which do you think is better? IMO, Occy wins.

I use Occy now, and yesterday I was trying to trade a bunch of crap I had for like a Ko, but instead somebody gave me a 3/17/10 Eschutas, not a bad deal.

I put the Eschutas on, and it only gave me 300 more lightning damage, which isn't that much. So to drop the Occy for it, I would be giving up :

-20 all resists
-20 energy/vit
-50 mf

Just to gain 300 more dmg and 10% fcr. My fcr is already around 110, so I'm happy with that. I didn't find the Eschutas that good, so I traded it for an Um.

go u! you got an um for it! thats good trading on ur part... but i thing occy is about equal... with lag on my comp you can just sit still for like 10 secs then ur guaranteed to be hit enough to tele u and it messes up your whole plan... i hate to be the broken record of the anti-occy movement. Not that im anti-occy or anything, use it on every sorc i have :p

I think 117%fcr is last breakpoint for l/cl so 10 fcr more would help since you have 110 now. Also faceted eschuta beats any other orb dmg-wise for lightning sorc (well, maybe theres a rare orb somewhere that adds crazy amount of light skills, fcr etc but this is super rare). I think occy isn't a bad choice, hoto is also good depending on what kind of gear you use.

On my light sorc I prefer faceted eschuta for dmg since i have res from other gear.

Occy can sometimes get ya killed with the teleport, mf can be on weapon switch idealy 6 ist crystalsword and 4 ist monarch. Resist can be obtain with charm and it have lower cast rate.

The bonus to light and fire damage isnt a lot but still, consider it like +3 to that mastery. Personnaly eschuta is better but need to be +3, wich isnt always the case when ya id it. In the end its only a matter of taste.

if you have 10 ists to put in your gear, what exactly are you hoping to find while mf'ing? :lol: 10ists buys most any unique or set in the game. i guess it doesnt get the really rare, perfect ones... heh

As far as occy or eschutas, I would (and do) take a +3 skills eschutas over occy. I have a 5-5 fire facet socketed in a 3/18/19/26 eschutas, which gives nice damage, good mana boost, a lovely 40% fcr and doesn't teleport me randomly to my death during Baal and Meph runs when some doll nicks me.

+1/+2 eschutas is generally not tradeable - no level 72+ sorc (requirement for eschutas) is going to settle for +1 to skills.

Hoto is also very nice - used it last ladder. It depends how much you want the damage boost from eschutas versus the other nice mods (resists!) on Hoto, but you could argue either way.
