Which is more fun and better for Pvm
windy is more fun pvm, since it can kill things. (pretty much everything) fire druids seem to weak to kill pvm, for instance, a windy can kill hell diablo in less than 10 seconds, i dont think a firedruid can even flitch him.

For PvM, stick with Wind since they deal out two types of damage (cold from Hurricane, physical from Tornado) so you don't have to worry about immunes that much.

Easier and better - wind druid.
Funner - fire druid.

Fire druids do fire + physical damage.
If you do alot of physical damage then your not a pure fire druid.
and you're dumb
fire skills do part physical part fire
I'd go fire for one reason. 99.9% of Elemental Druids I see are Wind. What's the point in being exactly the same ? If you play alone, then I can see going Wind. But, if you play solely public like I do, then you don't want to be the same as everyone else in the game.
My Fissure currently does about 3600 damage with some missing gear.
If you do alot of physical damage then your not a pure fire druid.
ace please stop spamming useless posts unless you know what your talking about. especially in the pvp forum ~_~.

I have decided to go fire druid just for fun. I was wondering an gear reccomendations, stat point allocation (dex for hitting percentage?). If i get like +6 skills can i tank hell baal with good resists. What skills should I max for best armageddon/melee damage compramise.

NO character can tank hell baal with just +6 skills and good resists. That'll get my flamed, oh well.
I prefer to use Volcano and Armageddon on my fire druids; Volcano is just too cool (Massive stun =) )
I think there's a little bit of a bug with Cano, though - if you right click too fast (Before the cooldown time ends) it actually takes longer to cool down. (Is that right?)

Geddon doesn't seem to list any phys damage, but it must inflict some phys dmg because when I am in a pack of Fire Immunes it stil hurts them a little.

"no1 can tank hell baal" uhhh lol my fury druid can he had no problems in that department baal was dead in about 45 seconds
my level 87 cold merc from a poison mancer tanks decreped hell meph in players = 3 and dies 1/10 times usually when meph is at 0.5% life and I'm thinking naaah i won't waste a juv on you....... damn there goes 50k gold =)
this is my main mf build. meph = dead in about 30 seconds players= 1 and about 50 - 70 sec in player = 3. I'm guessing that although baal is harder then meph he would still be able to do it reasonably well with a few juvs and thawing potions. I have to test it out, have not gotten around to it. (killed ancients in 15 seconds and got bored of act 5 and WSK) the necro is now a MF char
another laugh for me "with only +6 to skills" the necro has +5 due to average equipment and no skillers only resist/ stats small charms
lol no respect for player skill each of these chars takes me about 2-4 months to build up cause I don't have too much time, the benefit being that I know my chars perfectly inside and out always casting the right skill at the right time

You might not have noticed, but that was most likely in referance to the topic {fire or wind druids}. If that was not the key reference then it must have been for casting characters in general.

One of the great uses of a merc. But being that you cannot hire a wind druid or fire druid as a merc...
Also, if your stacking an overpowered merc and hell baal still kills him when hes decreped {and your a necro, so obviously you have access to life tap too}, then he should never die. Even more so when its vrs a boss monster like hell baal, who has no minions to distract the merc, and lots of tenticals to leach off of.

This topic has been cleared up since the guy posted saying he would be a fire druid. Unless he has questions regarding his build, or needs to see the two wonderful guides posted {one pvp guide that seems to have been lost a few pages back really needs to have a link put in the guide thread}, then the debate of this thread is over. But feel free to start another thread about this debate.

whats some good gear for fireclaws druid. I currently use earthshaker, but would lightsaber be better. will aldurs armor cut it for pvm. I need to pump my resists to what do you reccomend? Im not rich at all, like io and 2 hel runes a few pgems. Any advice is needed.

It wouldn't make much sense to use Earthshaker on a fireclaws druid. Use a fast weapon (robophase is the obvious one, but ethereal Ginthers, Azurewrath, Lightsabre, Djinn Slayer [I think that should be pretty cheap] are all good choices.)
Question off to the side about fireclaw druids and speed -
Chu-Ko-Nus are the fastest items in the game, with -60 ias. If someone shaeld one of these five times, wouldn't it beat the speed of a robophase by A LOT? Is it worth using one, and losing the shield? Too much overkill? o,o

i dont like either fire or wind for PVM but windy is better cause fire sux and lotsa times u will run into cold imune phys imune and stoneskin... which rly sux

I'd say fire is better than wind pvm simply because it is easier to contol, tornadoes seem to random and unreliable to me, and hurricane quite simply sucks the radius is much too small as a caster you want to be at least half a screen away from enemy groups a radius of about 6 yards doesn't cut it both ofthese can work pvm it's just that both are highly dependent on equipment. with out many natural grand charms these builds can be frustrating as their damage is simply too low in hell.
Tornados are hard to control from a distance, but a windy is not your usual run-away caster. Nados are devastating at close range, so teleport on whatever mob you want to kill and go nuts. With max block, cyclone armor, bear, merc, and oak you can tank just about anything.

I'm currently making a druid based on fire skills and so far so good (Just finished NM Mephisto)
It's really been able to handle any group of monsters, when there's a unique in a pack of fire immunes it can take a while, since only the physical portion of your skills will be dealing damage(this will definately get worse in hell, since the fire portion of your spells will be getting something like +13 fire damage per level while the physical gets stuck with +2 or +4. It's entirely possible, it just takes longer.
I didn't solo any of normal except for the entire Act IV, diablo was killed way too easy, the easiest first diablo fight for any of my characters.
I've been soloing nightmare though-
Andariel; just as easy as normal diablo was.
Duriel; was easy aswell, but his high hp takes a bit of your patience.
Mephisto... pain in the ***, he moves around too much to have volcano or fissure take him out, but then he doesn't move enough in his lair that's already difficult to manuever in to put armageddon to use. Your best bet with him is to go melee, tank him along with your merc and make use of volcano with PMH/openwounds weapons. (Was able deal some decent melee damage due to Lavagout's Enchants boosting AR)
I imagine Ancients and Baal's Minions will be easy, but not so sure of Baal himself, might have to do the same with him as I did with Mephisto.
This build is really fun and surprisingly effective, so good luck and enjoy the ride.

I have a feeling that once i get azurewrath instead of lightsaber and my armor this char will rape.
