got ripped off

I just got ripped off by some guy...and it was completely weird how he did it.

It was his enigma for my 3 key set (probably my fault for that) and we put our crap up in the trade window and it looked cool. I asked him to move it around and he did. All was good. I checked, he checked and I got ripped off! No weird switch sounds: nothing. I got a crappy lesser version, but it was completely quick and without any sounds, if he did a quick change.

What do you guys think happened?

are you sure you checked the enigma before you pressed the check button?

I think you just passed your cursor over it briefly and saw "enigma" and made the trade. I'm curious as to why you asked them to move it though. :scratch: Because that's when the switch was made no doubt.

Yeah I'm over it now, i mean it was only a key set, and I think everyone gets scammed sooner or later, at least it wasn't anything a day of work can't replace.

Anyway, I think about it now, and it was obviously a switchtrade scam, and although i didnt hear any 'clinks' or 'swooshes' it was easy to see I should've been much more careful.
I asked him to move it, in case of a different scam, which I don't think applied to the items I was dealing with. Oh well.
I'm much more jaded now, and whether or not that is a good or bad thing is left to be seen.
