Which Socketed item?

Hi!

Sorry the game is new for me.....and at the moment...I have the runes for honor (for merc) and runes for rhyme.....

The problem is: In tradegames I see a lot of high damage runewords. Of course that's because the stats of the socketed items were great.

My question is: How do I know that the stats are great? I find lots of superior socketed items....but is it the highest? Is there a list of maximal stats for socketed items? And where do I find/ make them?

Look for the elite forms of weapons, Cryptic axes, Berserker axes, armors like Dusk shrouds and Archon plates. You will only find the top elite items in hell mode, I think you can find them starting somewhere in A1. People usually farm pits/cows/level 85 areas for these items.

Here's a quick guide to what items you should use for runewords (there are some exceptions):

Helms: There really isn't much of a preference here for most players, but people like using Cirlcets/Coronets/Tiaras/Diadems, and occasionally Bone Visages. For Druids and Barbarians, use their corresponding Pelts.

Armour: Look for Light armour (Medium/Heavy is okay for Mercenary), and then find the one that has the best defence and best suits your character's stats.

Shield: Look for a Light shield with a high chance to block rate that best suits your character's stats.

Weapons (no staff-mods): Beserker Axe, Crusader Bow/Hydra Bow, Great Poleaxe, Cryptic Sword/Phase Blade/Collosus Sword/Collosus Blade. If you're planning to make CtA or Spirit for casters, then Crystal Sword/Flail.

Hey dudes....I've got an email. Thanks to that guy! He told me do look at diabloii.net And then for exeptional and normal weapon/shields.

When you check the level of that item and compare it with the maximum of sockets possible in it (found at diabloii.net) you can ad sockets in it with larzuk( then it gives the maximum sockets). Of course i search for the highest damage (ethereal and superior.)

I don't know if this is right. BUT I hope you can tell me... thanks for replying and advises...
